Hello Burnt Toast, as far as I can see the bible doesnt say that We should become like nuns etc.. I guess the reason is because God wants us be as you quoted """"I've never really felt that it was in God's plan for me to marry and have children anyway, and the thought of spending my entire life close to Him, serving Him, worshipping His name, and selflessly helping others at the same time makes me feel immensely happy."""" Yes being very close to Him, BUT also SERVING Him as much as you can, so that others may FIND the JOY you have and are rescued from Eternal death to. Gods wants us to be IN THE WORLD and involved with people but not OF THE WORLD not moulded into its ways. I would love to live a life away from all the rot around but its not Gods plan. As to Marriage, you either have the gift of celibacy or you dont, if you have God can use you in different was ,, you can give more time to God may be a misionary who knows.. hope this helps you bless you JOHN ;O)
