PLEASE dont forget about all the other fast food restaurants out there. McDonalds isnt the only bad one.

If people want to eat there, then let them

I am looking at McDonalds from this stand point. I worked there for 3 years. It was a good job. and not only for me but hundreds of thousands of people.

yeah if mary wants to eat a big mac and fries and a coke every day, and she cant seem to go home and cook herself a meal, or go to the grocery store and pick up something from the deli.. then its her problem. not mcdonald's problem

americans only get fat from fastfood because they rely on it and not eat in moderation

mcdonalds isnt at fault, and you cant blame it. the only person you can blame, is yourself... no one else for making you fat.

mcdonalds doesnt stuff food down your throat. if you get a supersized meal, you dont have to eat all of it!

you dont have to get ALL the sauce on your sandwich... you can get half or none!

but people do it and then they cry about it, and say theyre the victim.

Yeah! Shame on McDonalds for force feeding the 60% of Americans that are overweight...oh yeah and the other 40% of those that arent overweight, but can eat the supersized meals from McDonalds without gaining an ounce. We all need to unite to overthrow this terror network in disguise!!
While we are at it, let's go ahead and demand that every grocery store in America stop selling cooking oil, anything pre-battered, oh of course we should get them to take the flour off the shelves too, so that we will no longer be tempted to batter and fry food ...in our very own homes!! Oh the humanity!

I agree completely with this.. I thought it was pretty ridiculous when people started to blame McDonalds on them being obese and overweight when their the ones that go and order a Big Mac-Super Size with a Diet Coke!! I never understood that whole thing. We use to talk about this in class, my teacher would make the joke about somone going to Mcdonalds and ordering the whole left side of the menu, all Super-Sized with a Diet Coke and then they want to blame McDonalds for selling it to them. I am not a big fan of McDonalds, just perfer my chicken from other places, but when I do go there it's only for the Coke :D

There's nothing wrong with McDonalds IMHO. They supply what the market demands... and shouldn't be villanized for being particularly efficient and successful at doing that. In order for me to survive I need fuel. They provide me with a fuel source which I can access in situations where getting a hot/fast/high calorie meal on the go is important. Otherwise, when their particular food services aren't needed I find alternate healthier/cheaper fuel. So for me, on the rare occasion its needed, McDonalds serves its function quite well in my life, thanks. Eating isn't a recreational sport... food is a tool, treat it and its sources as such. Don't blame the hammer cause your house has a funky^ lean to it. ;)

I read Fast Food Nation and don't do McDonald's anymore. But I confess--I treat myself to In N' Out sometimes. Road trip...In N' Out sign on the highway...it's like the car almost pulls itself over to get in the line. Anyway that's the only fast food chain that manages to break me down. :) Plus their food containers have Bible verses on them. I have to show my support.

LoL I use the same reasoning for buying Uncle Ray's chips....they have Bible verses AND each flavor has a different little story about life in the olden days, lol.
Maybe that's why my bottom has gotten so big...shame on Uncle Ray too....and he's even a CHRISTian!! (gasp)

I hate Mcdonald's! Taco Bell is my favorite fast food stop;)
McDonald's is much healthier overall than ANY PIZZA parlor or delivery service. Mcdonald's serves WATER!!! Get that instead of a supersized Coke, they won't argue with you about what you pick. You can get a grilled chicken sandwich with water cheaper than any of their combo meals that are full of fat and calories. Its the customer's choice. Unfortunately the majority of customer do not base their menu choice on what their body needs, but rather what their taste buds want. Everyone should stop blaming Mcdonalds or any fast food joint for that matter.
Is Baskin Robins evil? They have 31 flavors of sugar loaded fat laden ice cream! They really don't have anything healthy! I don't hear people slamming them all the time!!! Its because people understand you can't go eat ice cream 3 times a day everyday. Why can't they figure that out about poor menu choices from fast food places?

Oh, really? Is that so?

They did an experiment in bonus extras on the movie where they put McDonalds fries in a glass jar and then put in a local restaurants fries in another jar and I think it was about 2 weeks (?) and they were pretty moldy and yet the McDonalds fries looked like they had just bought them. They went on with the experiment for two months and the fries didn't have any mold on them at all!!!

So I conclude that the fat that they serve you is some processed junk!

I would love to see some real proof of that not being a total hoax. Doesn't make any sence to me. If I were to leave my socks out for two months without touching them they'd grow mold, I'm sure MCDs fries would too.

How scientific was this experiment? And really, how scientific was the movie? I'm just curious as to why this movie picked on Mcdonald's. Maybe because they are by far the most successful of the fast food chains. As for the processed junk, I agree that much of what can be bought at Mcdonald's is just that, but so is half or more of the foods at the supermarkets. I'm not taking up for McD's because I don't even like their food. I just really don't see why this movie and many attempts to sue the fast food industry is aimed at McD's. How about a lawsuit against General Mills? Look at the dozens of sugar laden breakfast cereals they have the are DIRECTLY MARKETED TO LITTLE KIDS! They run their commercials only during kids cartoons and they put cartoon characters on the boxes to entice children so they will whine to parents who usually cave and purchase it for them.

Glad to see you checking stuff like this out, and thanks for the input. I just remain puzzled why McD's takes the brunt of the criticism. Either way, I won't eat there :)

They did make the movie abut McDonalds because it is the leading most successful fast food chains. There all over!

They also show either in the movie or in the bonus interviews about how kids are being targeted to want of all of their unhealthy products. Believe me you should just watch the movie and the bonus! I think most people have the wrong idea about the movie. ;)
