nothings beats a proper "Works" burger cooked at your local greasy spoon/fish and chip place.

cost a little bit more, takes a little longer to cook but always more satisfying both deliciously and in the knowing your helping local business.

Sadly, not everyone has the time for good, home cooked meals. Even then, I don't know that fast food is so much the major problem as is the food we have. I'm almost certain most homemade foods contain just as much or more bad-for-you stuff as fast food does. You figure, how many people eat processed foods like frozen chicken that are full of additives and such? Barely anything we buy in this country is natural anymore. Even store bought meats contain hormones and chemicals. So while fast food isn't good for you, neither is what we eat at home.

The only way to really know what you're getting is to either raise it yourself or buy from a local butcher who markets natural meats... of course, and strangely enough, you're going to pay more for it. We live in a culture where a bottle of soda costs less than a bottle of water...

I agree that the healthier options are often more expensive - our local butcher, who still slaughters the animals himself, has more expensive meat than the supermarket. But I know where his comes from, and it tastes much better, too! (His steaks are really steaks, while the supermarket steaks must come from a less tender part of the cow.)

I don't eat much fastfood, and the last time that I went to McDonalds must have been in the 1990's.

Heh, there are very few fast food places I will eat at. Especially hearing from my cousin about things that go on at McDonalds or what I've heard from other people. Anytime I go to one now, I must be able to see people physically making my food. Even then, I try to stay away from most.

I prefer Sheetz, Subway, and In n Out... Even if we don't have one in PA.

You must have better tap water than we do. Ours is filled with chemicals like chlorine. If you don't filter it, it's downright nasty. Even worse in the cities...

Everyone's so fat from all this stuff. People center their whole lives around fast food. It's tragic. I think one day we won't even have regular money that says "In God we Trust", it'll just have the golden arches and say, "I'm lovin' it".

lol, i know what you mean, i went to Mac d's yesterday with my friends, i asked for a grilled salad and they forgot what i ordered so i had a mixture of grilled and fried chicken in my salad and my fried asked for cheese burger, large fries and regular diet coke and they asked her what size fries she wanted and what drink didshe want... like dah

I much prefer burger king though.

the last time i went to McD's they gave me a fully loaded cheeseburger without a bottom bun... honestly... how did they miss that one!?

One of my buddies found a band-aid in his double whopper before. It was folded up and he gulped it in a single bite, then realized what it was when he was chewing. I've found a bit of skin from a fingerprint in my shake, but I forget where from.

My friend went to taco bell before. She ordered steak nachos. A live maggot came off the nacho and onto her hand. Another time my mom ordered a taco there and she seen a maggot in the meat.

Too true, subway rocks. Burgar king is fine, and sheetz comes in close... especially some of there subs...

Anyway I highly dislike mcdonalds because the food is plain-out gross. All that white bread and mayo, yuck! Talk about unhealthy. besides salads are like the only thing a vegetairian can eat there! There sandwiches are crap...

My friend went to taco bell before. She ordered steak nachos. A live maggot came off the nacho and onto her hand. Another time my mom ordered a taco there and she seen a maggot in the meat.

That seriously made me vomit a little in my mouth.

Taco Bell is one of the fast food places that I will eat at along with Sonic, if anything happened to me like that or to one of my friends I would ban it for life. I don't eat at Jack in the Box bc of some stories Ive heard about those places.

I hardly ever eat at McDonalds (except when Im on a roadtrip and its early in the morning) but the last time I did go there I ordered their 6 piece chicken nuggets. Just the chicken nuggets mind you, and it took forever! About 20 minutes! I was really steamed by the time I got my food, since the cashier had forgotten to even tell the people my order, and thats why I was waiting, and had forgotten to give me a reciept on top of it so I had to reorder again (but I didnt pay again). Im sure the people behind the counter thought it was strange that I was watching everyone behind the counter intently lol. I noticed that they were all watching their hand hygeine pretty well and I even caught a couple of guys glance backwards at me from the mirror on the wall after washing their hands lol.

I've banned it for life. My brother was a manager for taco bell b4. He said there are only maggots in the taco shells so if you get a burrito you'll be okay.

That's bad, cause that's all I'll eat there... hmm... I refuse to eat there since the spinach thing, but my family will... they think I'm too picky when we go there

As for the water it isn't just the chlorine that bothers me. It's the fluoride too.

Next time if you go to taco bell and order a taco or nachos inspect for maggots :o
