  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I didn't really do the blessing thing or the reputation thing. So I didn't learn the ins and outs of how they work.

Well then, you are absolutely good for NOTHING, then, right? ;)

OK, Michelle .. I just added to your reputation ... LOL

ha ha! So to answer your other question, I WAS going to buy a ticket, but didn't so....I usually don't play the lottery but probably wouldn't have won anyway. I don't even need millions, 100K would do me just fine lol

So....I had my garage sale this weekend. Probably the last one I will have lol. Did OK. Made 124.14.
A couple of things torqued me out though. One was I hear this woman asking her son, "are you sure you don't want this water soaker gun?" and I know I had two of another one and when I go to point it out to them I notice....someone had STOLEN them! Not the lady that was talking to her son but someone else when I didn't notice. I was seriously going to sell them for 50 cents a piece so I'm like REALLY??? I just cannot understand why some people think it's OK to let their kids walk away without paying for stuff and they think nothing of it! And it's really sad because it's a common trait among a certain nationality here. I am totally not prejudiced, but they wonder why people don't want them here and this is one reason (besides the fact they are here illegally!).
The second thing was this lady asked me how much for 2 shelves I had. So I said "I'll give them both to you for a dollar". So then she looks around and with her back to me says "I only have 37 cents so will you take that for one?" I DID take it, but she took the bigger of the 2 shelves and I'm like REALLY? Seriously I call BS on only having 37 cents! Yeah I believe you are garage saling with only 37 cents and you can't even fork over 50 cents for a cute little nic nac shelf?
So I made a list of the things I had left over so I could write them off on my taxes and hauled all the stuff to the Goodwill immediately after I closed the sale.
Now I have a nice clean (for the most part) garage! Next weekend I think I'm going to re-organize what I have left.

Oh and then yesterday I go to weed my front yard and I figure it won't take that long I'll just use my weed hoe I have. Well I guess that got stolen too! I don't think it got stolen in the garage sale, but it is no where to be had! I'm like REALLY? I mean it was hard for me to spend 15 bucks to buy that and I was so glad I did, and now someone steals it? GRRRRR

I've seen quite a few people do a lot of work to get a little money from yard sales.

Its unbelievable how cheap some people are to steal those small things. Our neighbor in Maine had a yard sale. Had some nicnacks on a table. A well dress guy as her how much this one was. 25 cents she said. Later she noticed that one was gone.

too bad people are that way.

So I had to get my car inspected. Need a new exhaust for the back half of the car. I guess expected at 100K. And a light over the rear license place. So I get the light for 5 bucks. Have to take the back hatch apart to get at the nuts to loosen the assemble the lights are in. 1st nut looks clean but breaks easily. 2nd nut looks a little rusted but turns OK. Lot of wate around the light and the metal that hold and powers the light is rusted. Looks like a new assemble. ... That's my Grrrrr for the day Michelle.

It's okay, all the blessings in savings went POOF! the other day, never to be heard from again ...

One of the mod's answered me and said they were having problems with the bank and blessing system so they shut it down to work on the problem, so I don't know if they are "never to be heard from again" but maybe just for awhile, unless you know something I don't, which is entirely possible too ;)

He is risen INDEED! :D

Well I enjoyed a great service at our church even though we had to "watch" it on a big screen. Our church is evolving and usually the 9:00 service is "live" but I guess since they had a 7:00 service that one was live instead IDK.
Other than that, I recorded my blessings in my journal and had pretty much the lonliest Easter to date of my existance. My oldest son had to work and afterward he went to his girlfriend's house. My younger one hung out at the skate park all day. I did laundry (yippee) and vaccumned (woot). Made steak for dinner and baked Kale chips earlier for a snack. This diet I am on is about to make me lose my mind, I am SO bored with the food I am allowed to have. Still...lost another pound this morning so I guess it's worth it?
Today I am taking our puppy to the cancer vet do discuss options that don't include amputation of her leg! She doesn't act like she is in pain and the vet keeps insisting she's just a stoic dog that won't show it. But she runs, she plays, she still eats all my other dog's food and seems very happy, but she just won't use her leg.THAT is the ONLY indication of any pain! We do NOT want to amputate (which costs about $1000.00 in itself BTW). Any prayers will be appreciated. I cannot figure out what could possibly be the "lesson" from God in this. I know it could be a "lesson" for my son maybe and not me, but either way, I just don't understand it. I believe my God is a BIG God and He CAN heal her IF He choses. Still it's very distressing to think she has cancer. I thought with my mom, my father-in-law, and my husband that is enough cancer in my family, but now our dog has to have it too? Oh well Praise the Lord! No matter what happens it will not shake my belief in my God!

Wow, I don't think I'd car for a video church! Tho, I can understand getting there late and having to watch a screen in the next room!

My pastor preaches the same message 4 times from 8:30 to 12:30. I think that is a bit much and would recommend he have on of the other pastors preach a service. But that's not how he wants to do it.

Ya, diet food is no fun. It it was fun, I'd probably diet ... lol

I don't think every thing that happens is for God to teach us a lesson. Of course if we look for lessons to learn it will help us be the person God wants us to be.

I pray God heals your dogs leg.

Currently I think only one service is a video. That's why I usually go to the 9:00 service because it is live. That and the fact that I got tired of the Pastors asking us to move to a different service because ours (10:30) was the most common for new people. Another thing that annoys me is every time it's crowded they always ask people to move to the center of the row so that the late people can get a seat. This weekend the usher comes up to me and asks me if the seats beside me were taken, and when I tell him no, he said would you mind moving in? To which I said no. I told him I needed to be on the end and I would gladly move to let people in but I needed to be on the end in case I needed to get out. I think he was taken aback, but seriously, I get there early for a reason. I like to get my "special" seat. I don't get upset if someone already sits there, but why should people who get there early move so that the late comers can get the aisle seats. Just a peeve of mine.

On another note, it seems amputation is in our girls future. The vet said if we just medicate her she might only live a few months, but if we amputate she "could" live 3 or more (or less) years. GRRR. And BTW 5 radiation treatments (which are only used to regulate pain) is 2000.00!!!!
And some other treatments I've read about 500 per treatment indefinitely! And also depending on what type of cancer she has, even after amputation the cancer could come back and she could die anyway.
I don't understand why chemo alone doesn't work like it does in people.
