We just have to be constantly reminded I guess ( I know I do) that everyone is on their OWN journey and we CANNOT give pat answers and expect to "fix" everyone's problems. God might actually be having them (or us) to go thru these situations for a reason (no doubt there IS a reason) think Joseph, or Job. I always think of Job's friends cuz they didn't have a clue that maybe God was allowing this to happen for a reason, not because Job was doing something wrong necessarily. And what if Joseph had people constantly telling him that HE must have gotten himself in this situation somehow it must be his fault even though he was a child when his brothers sold him. We cannot see into another's heart or know what they are truly going thru ever! Only God can do that. We can be encouraging and helpful and share what we did or what might help, we just should never assume we know how to fix their problem, cuz we truly don't.

PC, I have a literal example of walking along side ...
While hiking last weekend I over took a father and son hiking for a week on the trail. The father and I talked as we walked down the trail for a mile. We all stopped for a rest and the father told his son that our conversation had helped him make the last mile. So it doesn't take much sometimes to help some sometimes.

Yes... FUTBOL rules, and I'm from the US.

I'm a refugee from the Crosswalk Forums that are in the process of closing down, and since I'm 50 and never married, I was happy to find an active singles area here. It's what we used to have over there, before the admin came in and imposed all sorts of posting rules. It looks like you all have some good fun.

I was never at Crosswalk forums. I think I did read a few articles posted there over the years. So are you saying the new rules cause people to not enjoy posting there and so lack of use is resulting the forums closing down?

Well, the new rules killed the "community" we had created in Singles. We were a family. This happened in 2006, I believe. Since then, the forums overall have been in decline. I would not say it was just the Singles area that caused the decline - it was everywhere. I'm sorry to see it end, but, I'm also happy to have a new place to go. I enjoy good community with fellow singles - especially older ones!

That is a great example and timely to our conversation.. Wow that was a nice thing to have happen.. I bet you no matter where you hike there is something different every time even on the same hikes!!!!

Your so right you just never know when we might be making a difference in someones life even just being a friend..

Ouch! Have you tried Carmax? They will buy your car outright even if you don't buy a car from them and you have 7 days to decide if you like their offer or not.

It took us a little while to get started here.. when I first started posting it was really quiet.. at least at that time it was.. but we are developing some really close friendships now and there are more interactions.. its nice.. each person just comes and goes as they can.. and so amazing that we can live in different countries and different time zones but still all come together as one.. just love it..

That's exactly what we had over there too; it was amazing! I have no doubt I'll enjoy it here. I am most definitely unique! I'm about to help moderate a weather webcast and run the FB group for it. This is a nightly thing for me. Between tropics and a cold front, things in my area could get interesting in the coming week.
