  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Just went to a dinner, that was a good bye to by son. He is heading for Army training and then to Afganistan. Will be gone for 11 months. (sad) But its something he has wanted since the war 1st broke out. I think its a kind of test of his manhood. Can I handle this type thing for him.

He wouldn't be on the front lines, so most likely he will come home with no physical injuries. I will give him a new presecptive on life I'm sure. But its a pretty emotional thing for sure.

Ohhh my friend.. thats huge for you.. I will pray for you and your son and all this means..

I don't really know what else to say.. but how much your letters to each other during this time will become so precious.. and although he is going so far away... GOD goes with him and will be also with you every moment till he returns home..

Hang in there dayhiker...I'm easier to catch on facebook than here, but am around if you need a shoulder to lean on now and again.

I admit, I mostly survived my daughter's deployment with lots of coffee and valerian root, but she made it home safely and I was greatly relieved. Admittedly, I did smudge most of her stuff that I could get my hands on and did put a guardian in her sea bag that she kept in her pocket all the time...

I will say, it was much easier being deployed myself than watching my child go ...

Hang in there Dad! Tell your boy to watch his six!

Aww nice to hear from you and super nice of Michelle to be so sweet and checking up on you.. sounds a busy life for sure.. thanks for swinging by and sharing with us though.. its always nice to hear from you..
You hear from me a lot on FB :p I check the lil "Like" (or in my case Arrrrr!) button often on your statuses :p

Well I just want to re-iterate that I DID miss you around here and please don't leave again without a word at least. I don't see you on FB as I am not your "friend" over there. But here we can have a little more conversation.

Dayhiker there are alot of things our children do that we worry about. All we can do is pray them thru it. But yeah, going over there would be really hard for anyone to deal with. We will be praying for you and your son.

Father, protect Dayhiker's son, physically, emotionally and spiritually, while in transit and at his posts, here in the US and in Afganistan. May Dayhiker be able to get some news from his son, from time to time. Help him to rest in you while his son is away. Bring back his son home, safely. In Jesus' name, amen! :prayer:

Well I got my first paycheck from my second job. Grocery money yahoo!
I've worked 2 shifts in my actual position this week and now I don't work until next Saturday and I work 10 at night til 630 am, and it's not doing ad set soooo... And the 2 shifts I have worked, they start me at 9 so I come in when the people are half way done and all I know how to do is help put up signs. Last night I was so frustrated at the end because my supervisor said that they (him and another noob) had to re-scan a whole section so we needed to put up the signs. Well no biggie except the noob that was with him did not have a clear idea of how he scanned cuz the signs come out in the order you scan them and she was clueless (everytime I have seen her, I have to open her locker for her, she cannot get her locker opened with the combo lock) so finally we are down to the last 3 or 4 signs and she keeps going back to signs she already changed! I was like why don't you figure these out and I'm going to go put the cart away and when I got all done putting the cart away, she STILL hadn't found where the last sign went and it took me at least 5-10 minutes to put the cart away! They definitely are not setting us up for success though if they don't schedule us for the whole shift, it's kinda hard to learn it this way, but eventually I know I will be able to do it.

So......this weekend........my pool pump died. A couple of months ago I replaced the sand filter, but sadly now the pool pump (it's 13 years old) finally gave out. I am waiting until I get my vacation pay in 3 or 4 weeks before I can replace it. What's a girl to do, ya know? Just another trial in the life of memoriesbymichelle, but it's not all that upsetting to me. This too shall pass.

I had my kids this weekend. We had a great time although I'm not looking forward to the cleanup that awaits me after work. After my divorce, I ended up with the house. It is ridiculously large for one person. As such, I tend to use only four rooms in the home...bedroom, laundry room, kitchen and living room (Man Cave). My kids however have no issues with using the entire house, leaving little messes everywhere!!

In the end though, it is a small price to pay for time with the kiddos!

I will pray for you to stay awake..

I was thinking more along the lines Michelle.. that GOD is with you.. so that makes you a success wherever you are.. and GOD will prosper you in that place.. rather then load anything on you.. its going to be ok.. :D actually more then ok..

Glad you could spend time with your children.. and that you had a great time.. I have the children most of the time.. and tonight from 5pm have the night to myself.. I pick them up tomorrow after school I think.. sigh.. right now communication has broken down with my ex.. so its kinda stressfull.. but I try to keep a cheerful thankful attitude and try to concentrate on me doing the right things

God bless to all our mature single friends..
