  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Okay, I haven't slept in over three days! Now I'm getting desperate so anything that's natural and can't hurt the baby that promises sleep, sounds good. So, anyone have a maternity pillow? Does it work? I have a body pillow that's shaped just like this ">" and it doesn't work at all with supporting my belly comfortably or anything. :( I can't even sleep well when I take a nap! I'm starting to think I won't get any sleep until the baby's here and old enough to sleep through the night. Anyways, I'm going to go lay down and pray for some relief. I will definately be back later to see, though, cause tomorrow's pay day and we may be able to afford it. lol Or materials to make one, that may be an idea anyway as I can do that sooner...

Not sure what a 'maternity pillow' is, but one thing I found helpful in my last pregnancy was a 'body pillow' - this was basically an extra long pillow (2 - 3 times normal length).

I used it because I had difficulties with my hips, so I slept with one leg over it. It kept my hips square, as this seemed to be the main problem area.

I never had a problem with my bump, as I tended to sleep half on it - between sleeping on my side and sleeping on my front.

My waterbed helped some I think, since it tends to "cradle" you more. But the only thing I found to help was lots of pillows! That, and I needed to be able to rest my back against my DH's back or chest. I think it drove him a little nuts that I was always "leaning" on him at night, but it helped my back!

I just have a regular body pillow, like Naomi, and it's been great because I can lay on it, under it, or hug it.

I've also been sleeping with a LOT more pillows than just that...at the beginning of my pregnancy I was sleeping with about 7-8 pillows and now I'm sleeping with 4-5 a night and just surround my body with them.

The Snoogle sounds nice, but I'll try the body pillow and extra pillows first. Heh, like the dog won't lay on 'em halfway through the night so I can't use 'em. ;) I love my dog...I love my dog...I love my dog...

In case you're wondering, my MIL gave him his own personal doggy bed. He shredded it and laid the pieces in front of the bedroom door and looked hubby and me in the eyes as if to say, "Any more bright ideas?" lol He's funny, or he'd be an outside dog.
