How far along were you when you started buying them? Im sixteen weeks today and ive recently been noticing a little bulge..and of course the fact that my pants are getting a little tighter. I bought two pairs of maternity jeans from Target. They are soooo COMFYY! Today I found the cutest shirt at TJ Maxxx. It's black, long sleeved and has a stork carrying a baby in rhine stones.

Where do you guys shop for maternity? What do you think about the bands that go around your non maternity jeans? Are they worth it?

I LOVE the Bella Bands! I got 3 in different colors and used them all the way through my last pregnancy. When I got big and needed the support, I would fold it in half and wear it under my belly.

My fav maternity clothes this last pregnancy were Gap. Very soft, and very comfy. :)

I've had so many kids I show immediately :p so I always end up with maternity shirts right away.

I love the Bella Bands for pants. They're great!

With this baby, I just started wearing maternity shirts at about 14 weeks. I can still wear my pre-pregnancy pants, but they're starting to get a bit snug.

I just went to my local Motherhood Maternity outlet store and they had some great stuff on sale. I also like Ross for maternity clothes, and thrift stores are great, too.

Oh yes Ross is great for maternity clothes too! I wish there was a Motherhood maternity store close by. Thanks for all of your opinions on the Bella bands! I defenitely plan on getting a few of those. Where can I find them?

it is the smartest thing that you'll ever do to buy a bellaband. trust me. i live in them.

this is my third pregnancy, fourth child (had twins) so i get big quick. i love pea in the pod, and mimi maternity...but they are a bit pricey-er. (word? lol) i have a few funny cute shirts, but most of my clothes are exactly what i'd wear...except in maternity!! haha

gap, old navy (big hit) are cheaper ones that i like too.

Gap and Old Navy? I had no idea they had maternity clothes! I need to shop around a little more. haha.

As for the Bella Bands...im confused about sizing. I normally wear a size 8 in jeans/pants so would I need the smaller Bella Band that is sized 0-8 or should I go up to the larger one...just in case?

I would stick with the smaller bella band :). I was a size 10 at the beginning of my 1st pregnancy and still bought the 0-8 size bella band, and wore it my entire pregnancy without a problem :). I'm wearing it again this pregnancy and it still works great.

Thanks! Thats what i'll do then =]
By the way, I couldnt help but notice that you are also 16 weeks along..when's your due date? If you dont mind me asking =]

Have not read through this thread so I apologize if I am repeating.

I hated the bella band- I much preferred maternity pants.

I HATE Motherhood and Old Navy with a passion. Everything I bought from there was cheap, shrank and fell apart quickly. I'd never buy their stuff again.

The Liz Lange Mat stuff from Target has been ok. I only have a few basic pieces but they've lasted well.

The maternity camisoles from Mimi Maternity are THE BEST EVER!!!!

Otherwise Gap has been the absolute best for me. I have 2 pairs of jeans and 1 pair of dress pants and they are fantastic. They've worn and washed extremely well. And they are SO comfortable!!!!!! Same goes for the shirts/tanks and sweaters I've bought from there.

Overall I cannot highly suggest Gap enough. They are a bit more pricey but IMO the quality shows and is worth paying a bit extra for something nice that will last you.

All this coming from a woman who is 39 weeks pregnant and ready to pop. I started in mat clothes full time around 18ish weeks.

i bought my first pair of maternity jeans last week and i hate them! i have a bump band but its not s proper balla band and doesnt hod up non maternty jeans. the jeas i have are elasticated ath the side and i have to keep pulling them up because the just fall down round the legs they are to tight so they just slip off.

i need to go by another pair becaus non ofmy jean fit me any more. and i think i will make sure i try them on first. i dont by matrinty tops i just try to by really long tops that sterch so that after the babys born i can still wear them. when i was pregnant with my son i didnt own any matrity clothes. i was to samll to fit in to them. i just bought cholthers 2 sizes bigger than i normaly wear (just lose fitting joggin trousers) and they done me they whole time. and i was pregnat whith him when the gypsey skirts were in fashoin so i had a few of them.

this time i seam to be getting abit bigger and ive bought jeans becuase its winter. i inten bying a new pair of maternty jeans but i think ill be buying the under bump ones

Thanks for your advice! Ive so far liked the LIz Lange stuff, but one pair of my maternity jeans seem to have shrunk. Now I dont know what to do..they are just too short and I look like a hillbilly. Ill probably only be able to wear them tucked into boots now :p

As for Gap stuff, the stores around here dont have a maternity section. I will have to take a look online.
