And after marriage, Having Sex with your partner is not Lust.

I hope you lust after your wife. This will make sex better for the best of you. Lust is an intense and overwhelming desire, in this case, for sex. What is wrong with having that in a bibilical marriage relationship?

Do you see touching yourself among those? Wouldn't God have said that? He specified orgies. He mentions 'sexual immorality' but this is most likely (as many scholors would argue) mentioning forbidden practices that were around in the time.... and trust me... they were much more open about the nastiness...

1John 2:16 has the Greek word for desire. The type of lust this means is that lust we use for ostentation. A sports car, or that ipod I really want. hehe

As far as 1Peter 2:13... I think you quoted that wrong. "Submit yourselves for the Lord's sake to every authority instituted among men: whether to the king, as the supreme authority" is in my Bible

The Bible doesn't mention snorting cocaine at all...don't ya think that's a sign he really doesn't care?

This is bad reasoning.

Why should God care if you do drugs? Cocaine, I could maybe see the reasoning for... but anything in excess is pretty bad, I think. Not just with drugs. I think that is another thread, another time. (I'm an anti-drug war activist, so I can go on for a long time).

In point of fact, the Bible does refer to masturbation on one occasion, albeit indirectly.

Leviticus 15:16,17

16 And if any man's seed of copulation go out from him, then he shall wash all his flesh in water, and be unclean until the even.
17 And every garment, and every skin, whereon is the seed of copulation, shall be washed with water, and be unclean until the even.

Now while it is true that this passage is part of the ceremonial law, I think that it makes it clear that masturbation is not genuinely harmless. ......


17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

Leviticus 15:16,17 does not make mention of touching yourself. At all. It is regarding bodily discharge. Are we going to now say ovulation is a sin?

The Bible is very clear that a person should not touch, if you would like to read the book of Genesis chapter 38 Onin wastes his seed on the ground and God is very displeased and kills him.

1. That was tackled already in this forum. It was his disobedience, not his spilling of sperm.
2. The church stopped using this to explain that touching yourself is wrong a long time ago. It may be time to join them in their decision.

Also out of necessity. When we Lust after something selfish, and not completely necessary, that will never completely satisfy us. We want it for the sake of wanting it, that's selfish ambition. Therefore Masturbation could indeed be categorized under selfish ambition.

Well I could say alot herew....much of which could probably get me banned So I am going to censor myself.

1) I do not see touching yourself as a sin. It is a natural (and yes, animals do it.......ALOT gods...my Neighbor's dog and some zoo ani.....never mind >.> ) and healthy way to expreess one's pent up needs and deisres. Build of...especialy in the form of blue balls...can be QUITE painful. Would a nocturnal emmisision (wet dream) therfor be consdered a sin?

2) MAsturbation does not need to be about lust. A person can touch and get rid of all their frustrations, rathwer than going out and having pre marital sex (sopmething I hear Christians find QUITE bad and sinful) or committing adultery with somone other than your spouse, if said spouse happens to be away.

3) touching yourself does not have to be base or harmful to the self or "detract from god" I myself use sex and touching yourself as part of my dailly life and in my rituals and "magick" that I do indeed practice (which has been a common practice in many religions, especially the old ones.

I think you know the difference between porn and masturbation.

The condemnation of autoeroticism in churches and Christian organizations may explain why women from these groups suffer in higher numbers psychological disorders Vaginismus and Dyspareunia, then women who come from faiths and denominations where masturbation is taught to be healthy.

Well no I don't agree with what there parents did to the kids, especialy the boys, but uhhhhg how can you touch without lust, it takes both the mind and body. And for someone to touch is bad enough now they have websights for sex driven teens to think that masterbating is honky dory, sorry but like I said maybe I should have been born in the 1800's because I don't veiw it casually. Sexaul pleasure is something that should be enjoyed in marrage, between husband and wife.
