Be of a pure mind. Strive every day to live a life more like Jesus Christ.
Do you think he masturbated and had sexual fantasies?

Pure of mind? Where's the fun in that? While I'm waiting for any sexual experience involving a real woman, I can have any type of sexual fantasies I dang well please! I have pretty strange ones, but I am one of the most timid people around others — kind of proof that my fantasies have no effect on how I perceive reality, or act.

I think Jesus had no sexual fantasies because I don't think he existed. If he did exist though, I bet he had tons, because he was smart enough to realize that masturbation is not evil and that it's actually quite fun.

I think a lifestyle of masturbation is based on a wrong understanding of God's plan for sex.

Which is what, exactly?

And is anyone going to respond to my question: if lustful thoughts are what you see as a problem, does it have to be lusting after a specific person, or just sexual thoughts in general?

To me it sounds as if sex should be work and you should not get pleasure out of it because if you do then you're giving into lust.

It's supposed to feel good for a reason. What better combination than pleasure and procreation. Imagine if sex were painful, the human population would definitely be smaller. :p

We should talk. :) Just kidding ;)

but I am one of the most timid people around others — kind of proof that my fantasies have no effect on how I perceive reality, or act.
V. good point! I think that the church has a much more unnatural fixation with sex than most ordinary people, too.

I think Jesus had no sexual fantasies because I don't think he existed. If he did exist though, I bet he had tons, because he was smart enough to realize that masturbation is not evil and that it's actually quite fun.
Only quite fun? ;)

Christians need to loosen up more and realise that experiencing pleasure for pleasure's sake is not a sin. It's not selfish or dirty or wrong (whatever that means) to have a bit of alone-time-fun.

Yeah, I mean come on, having fun at no one's expense is no harm to anyone. Why would God allow masturbation to occur if he hated it so much? Would seem pretty cruel if he allowed you to have this much fun and then punished you for it. You aren't hurting anyone either.

If that's the case; Why would God allow any sin?
Get real here:doh:

Murder is a sin. It harms people.
Rape is a sin. It harms people.
Robbery is a sin. It harms people.
Genocide is a sin. It harms people.
Torture is a sin. It harms people.

Masturbation however does not harm people.

It's not lust to be attracted to someone or notice that he or she is good-looking.
It's not lust to have a strong desire to have sex.
It's not lust to anticipate and be excited about having sex within a marriage.
It's not lust when a man or woman becomes turned on without any conscious decision to do so.
It's not lust to experience sexual temptation.

The most important thing is how we react to the urges of our sex drives.
Noticing an attractive person is not wrong; but undressing that person with your eyes is.
Lust is a sexual desire minus honour and holiness.
When we choose to lust, we are actively rejecting God.
1 Thessalonians 4:7-8 states:
"For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a
holy life. Therefore, he who rejects this instruction
does not reject man but God, who give you His
Holy Spirit."
Lust is always an unholy desire for the forbidden. It can never be quenched. As soon as you get what you want...lust wants more!

LIE: A little fantasising won't hurt anyone!
"To set the mind on the flesh is death, but
to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace"
Romans 8:6

Lust is a serious sin...masturbation is one expression of a lustful heart.

And as that guy was sayin about boring sex within a marriage and being all about giving?
When a husband and wife make love, it is a living picture of the spiritual reality of marriage - two people in one.

hope that clears things up??!

Ok...if you've read everythin I've written between last night and tonight..
it should be evident that it hurts the self?
Aright...adultery within the heart? not hurting ANYBODY but you..
God still forbids it!
Right?

Sparkle....if it's physical harm that you're lookin for..I'm not sure there is in all honesty! But yes..as you were sayin..it's spiritual harm..isn't that much worse? We are the temple of God...our relationship with God is on a purely spiritual level right? so yes....infiltrating our minds with lust and wrongful sexual desires is getting in the way of our spiritual relationship with God.

Doesn't anybody at all agree with me? lol..or am I floating a lone boat here!

Aright....Halen...
Adultery: voluntary sexual relations between a married person and someone who is not their legal partner.

ok so we've cleared that up...we all know what adultery means now.

we're talking about masturbation. But somebody made the point that it doesn't harm anybody so why bother? To which I said it harms self. An example that went along with that is committing adultery within the heart. It doesn't hurt anybody but yourself:
"For from within, out of the
heart of men, proceed evil thoughts,
adulteries, fornications, murders,
thefts, covetousness, wicked-
ness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye,
blasphemy, pride, foolishness.
All these evil things come from
within defile a man."
Mark 7:21-23

We must not plant these things in our hearts lest they grow.

and just as I was sayin...
"But I say to you that whoever
looks at a woman to lust for her has
already committed adultery with her
in his heart."
Matthew 5:28

and then it goes on to say how it is bad for you...
"If your right eye causes you to
sin, pluck it out and cast it from
you; for it is more profitable for you
that one of your members persish,
than for your whole body to be cast into hell"
Matthew5:29

thanks for reading...hope it helps you grow in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Right?

Masturbation does not hurt the self. If it did I probably wouldn't be doing it every day.

These two statements aren't entirely compatable for instance, what if you're attracted to yourself?

None of what you posted talked about masturbation. Justify your belief that masturbation is "adultery within the heart". You have not done that. You have repeatedly asserted that. Now please, demonstrate.
