I find this question quite interesting:
The argument that many here use to support the claim that mastrubation is inherently wrong is that Christ said, lust outside marriage counts as adultery. Presumably, this is the case when someone fantasizes about a friend, celebrity, or other actual person. So my question is as follows: If, for example, someone reads suggestive stories while mastrubating, or imagines an entirely fictional character, does this still count as luts/adultery? After all, you're not actually necessarily fantasizing about adultery - you could, for example, imagine that this person is your wife, and anyway, since she's not a real person, you aren't actually comitting adultery with her in your imagination...
Thoughts, anyone?
Oh man. You are so far over the line at this point you couldn't see it if you looked behind you.Fireinfolding and EnemyPartyII.

Whether you're physically gratifying yourself for whatever reason, imagining sex with someone real or not, the fact of the matter is that lust is in your heart.
And whatever is in your heart is going to come out. That's what God is looking at, not just the physical aspect of lust.
I hope this answers your question(s).
Oh great. Another thing to second guess ourselves on constantly... "am I lusting or is it healthy sexual attreaction? Hmmm... better repress it, just to be safe"Ah, but surely as others have said here, there's a difference between lust and sexual attraction? Lust means an overwhelming, almost obsessive desire, while sexual attraction is the normal and healthy (and, indeed, necessary, from a human race point of view) attraction most people feel to members of the opposite sex?
