and note that I do not participate in these activites, but some people in my school think I am homosexual becuase I dont do either of the above activites

I am sorry kids are making fun of you - THAT is immoral. You are not any less of a man because of your beliefs.

Apparently, from what I understand, the term "gay" is used pretty loosely in school to mean a number of things, anything to mean "weak" to being homosexual. Sometimes that kind of pressure makes kids so unhappy, that they will go against their own judgement. One of my friend's teenage daughters was one of the few virgins in her peer group, and she decided to "get it over with", so that she didn't have to deal with the peer pressure anymore. Needless to say, she wasn't particularly happy with her experience - pretty sad, eh?

Anyway, the opinions you're going to get in this thread will probably be pretty equally divided. I think it depends on the person. Masturbating for some provides relief and then they go back to life in general, for others it ends up consuming them. Such things should be in moderation.

As for people calling you gay, ignore them. The karma monster will eventually tear them a new one and you'll be a better person for not giving into peer pressure or insulting them back. Small minds seem to be incapable of minding their own business and they like to show off for their friends. Again, just ignore them unless they really start getting mean. Better yet, agree with them sarcastically. It really sucks the fun out of insulting someone when they just agree with you. People accuse me and a friend of mine of having sex, constantly suggesting that I'm constantly getting some. At first I denied it, now I just roll my eyes at them and say "Yep, we boink like two little rabbits. Happy?" They shut up

No, there's nothing wrong with not viewing porn or not masturbating. Those things will either be attractive to you or they won't be. Neither is an indication of latent homosexuality.

As has already been stated, "gay" is a catchall term these days for weird, not usual, nonconformist. None of these things is bad either. It's just that you live in the petri dish we call school. And kids will play "whack-a-mole" with anyone that sticks out. Guess that's you.

Take heart, what other kids will torture you for now is really the first step in becoming comfortable in your own skin. Years from now you'll have the advantage of knowing what's comfortable and right for you.

I don't believe that either of them are acceptable. I commend you for not getting involved with them - too many young people do, to their eventual disappointment.

As for the people who insult me, I dont pay attension to them, and have nothing against homosexuals, but the morallity of society today is really begining to depress me.

Also, I do not consider myself a kid. I am 15, and however the technical age for an adult is 18, I think as an adult conserning morals, and I think i have better morals than most adults do, and I think I could agrue that i am more intellegent than many adults.

You are right. I was using the term "kid" as a matter of speech. I have a son who is your age, and I guess that is why I used the term loosely!

And, I also agree that many teens have much better morals and behavior than quite a few adults. I have seen some very wrong examples of adult behavior in public, even in such innocuous places like the grocery store, or on the highway! Perhaps, that's why adults need to listen to teens more.

On the issue of pornography, it is definitely not for those under the age of 18 to look at, as it presents a really distorted view of sexuality.

I don't think the fact that you don't touch or watch porn means you're gay. I don't think there is anything wrong with masturbation. I do think you're a little young for porn because, as posted earlier in this thread, it isn't a very realistic view of sexuality and sex and relationships are complicated enough without adding in this kind of distortion before you've had a chance to experience things for yourself a bit.

I think its easier for a 15 year old to have better morals then an adult.

Perhaps you have more pressure...but you certainly haven't lived as long...and don't deal with the same emotional stress that comes with being an adult.

What view of sexuality is there to distort?..when sex seems to be such a secret in christian homes.

People might talk about it from time to time. But what about showing examples of a healthy sexuality. Make it known how often parents are having sex, and that it's enjoyable...even when you have sex with the same person OVER AND OVER AND OVER.
