As I said, I have never felt conviction for doing so. I have asked him to convict me if I am wrong in what I'm doing.

I have never heard clear words from God, I just get a feeling when I'm doing something wrong.

I have told God that I have a very large sex drive and that my needs aren't being met through my wife as her and I may come together once a month or less. For me that is way too little.

It is also my belief that not everything that we do will please God, and not everything that we do that displeases Him is sin. I am not lusting after another woman, only my wife. So if masturbation is never mentioned in the Bible, and lusting after a woman who isn't your wife is where the sin is, me thinking of only my wife while doing so is not committing any sin.

I'm sooo sorry. That is a rough situation. Is there a wise, strong Christian man at church who can be a mentor or a support system for you? Would you mind if i prayed for you and your wife?

where's the communication? don't you ever talk to your wife about your needs. or are you just used to taking matters in your own hand......I suggest talking with your wife.

Being married to her is not healthy either. MB should only be used long enough to get rid of her and get a new wife.

As a person with MS, I THANK GOD that all men are not like you. This is one of the rudest things I've ever read, and I feel sorry for anyone who is married to you.

No where doe's the bible teach sexual desire or MB as sin. Lust doesn't equal sexual thoughts. Sexual thoughts come to us because of the way God designed the body, through God designed puberty. Many seem to have a problem with how God designed the body, he created a force so strong we can't deny it. It's our bodies hormonal chemistry that causes us to think sexually, that's why people can't defeat it. We desire sexuality just like food. Sexual desire is the force that drives us towards seeking a marriage partner, it doesn't happen after marriage.

Children start MB because it just feels good, it's a set habit by puberty, then sexual thoughts are part of the process.

Lust is to covet, the desire to take something not yours, jealously, out of control desires that harm. The goal is with your thoughts is not to plan harm with them.

I have talked to my wife about my needs, but there is nothing she can do about her MS causing her to have no sexual drive or desire. We have spoken to her ob/gyn and her pcp. It's a symptom of her MS and there is no fix.

So we can talk all about it, but it will not change her illness.

Does she know you feel this way? Does she blame herself? She has MS? What is her first name. Ask her if she would like me to pray for her. Give this hug to her for me....

She does know that I have a high sex drive and she knows that I touch. She has told me that she is ok with me doing it because she knows that she is unable to provide the way that a wife is supposed to according to the Bible.

Yes, she has MS and she blames that, not herself. I make sure that she doesn't blame herself for something that an illness causes.

Her first name is Melissa and she has no issues with prayers coming her way. She has been prayed over and prayed for for years now. She has had MS since she was 21 and is now 29. She has been told that it's because she doesn't have enough faith that she's not completely healed, but I can assure you that she has one of the strongest faiths that I have seen in the face of this illness.

My hug will have to come first though as I always hug her when I come home from work.

It's free.

It burns calories.

It releases tension.

Helps in avoiding sin.

Can do it on your own.

And it's NOT a sin.

What is it? Masturbation.

It's addicting.

It's selfish.

It causes chemical imbalances.

It hurts a REAL (marriage) sex life.

It can easily cause you to lust (in your mind or elsewhere).

It's self-abuse.

I won't say it's sin because I don't really know if it is or not, but it does have a lot of con's.

It's addicting.
Something we do regularly does not equate to addiction. Many touch around the same frequency as similarly aged married people have sex.

It's selfish.
So is self centred intercourse, or eating alone which is then a solitary pleasure.

It causes chemical imbalances.
Any more than normal sex? What exactly are you referring to - please cite reputable sources

It hurts a REAL (marriage) sex life.
It can do but not necessarily. Intercourse can also be something quite destructive in some marriages.

It can easily cause you to lust (in your mind or elsewhere).
So can just walking around anywhere there are nice looking females. What one thinks about must be appropriate,as in any area of life.

It's self-abuse.
Only by some circular reasoning

I won't say it's sin because I don't really know if it is or not, but it does have a lot of con's.
Cars, food, fashion, career, whatever can also become something that works against our ongoing relationship with Jesus. Your statement has value only if masturbation is unequivocally wrong at any time.

What is it? Masturbation.

I'm not sure that list is too convincing.

Masturbation can harm mentally and emotionally especially if your a Christian I understand we all mess up sometimes. But there are sources out there that give reasons why its bad and there's sources why it advocates just google it. so you need to pick the side obviously if you asking it's because your tired of doing it and it and your maybe disgusted with yourself.I know you don't touch to nothing? There has to be something motivating you to do it? I had to touch to porn. Once you look for pleasure in something that's not god then there's an issue. It maybe harmless but in a spiritual point of view it's a bondage. Strive to be holy and pure. You may mess up but it's possible to brake free from it. Put it like this if you obey the flesh it will lead to death strive for the spiritual things of god.

That's not biblical thinking. God has made this world chock full of pleasures for us to enjoy. God's blessings on Israel were very earthly - food, wine, children, good crops for example.

I would like to see these so-called "sources", thanks.

No medical professional worth his salt would make such a ridiculous claim, so whose great opinion are we accepting as absolute truth here?

Let me guess, it causes hairy palms, blindness, low energy and madness.

Straight out of the 1850 Puritan Guide to Family Living. Yo.

There is not one medical study that shows MB harmful, physically or emotionally, except maybe for christians that suffer from guilt because they do it. The problem isn't MB, it's the unneeded guilt caused by generations of biased thinking.

Take christian teens, they hit puberty and they will do it with sexual thought. In fact, it's almost impossible to do without sexual thought because your privates are wired to your brain. As hard as teens struggle not to do it, they still do. Many try every plan possible only to fail and live in a constant state of guilt and repenting. That seems to be the churches answer, it's sin, you will fail, just live in a constant cycle of guilt and repenting.

Try reading some books on how the early church tried to stop kids, even young kids from touching themselves such as tying them down in bed at night; make them wear many layered clothes; chastity belts; beatings; forced hours of prayer; doomed to be tortured in hell;...on and on.

In no way is it more selfish than taking a bubble bath, enjoying a hobby, eating, etc... One can harm themselves by overeating, but we don't teach them never to eat.

Strange, God made us sexual by the act of puberty, but some think they are asexual until after marriage. Seems many don't like the way God designed their bodies.

Yeah it causes chemical imbalances, right.... if you say it then it must be true. File closed, people. File closed!

It's as selfish as eating something or emptying your bowels. I guess you should also try to stop that. Stop being so darn selfish! Going to the toilet costs time and brings absolutely no glory to God!

You take bubble baths? Wow, that's shockingly selfish. Can you imagine a christian 200 years ago taking a bubble bath? I can't. Back then the christians still knew how to live godly lives, what a shame. What has become out of us? We've turned into selfish, rotten creeps. Time to get the ol' whip out and chastize our flesh.

Now this falls under the category:

Toxic advice which will either make you fall off or make you lose your mind

I am really amazed how much crappy advice you can get on a forum when it's big enough. If I ran this forum I'd really ask myself if this is actually helping people or rather hurting people.

hey! people can throw a "Christian" before anything, it sure doesn't really mean anything these days........Its funny (well not really) but as culture continues to slide ever so slowly downhill, less and less people care about holyness and purity, I'm sure in another fifty years folks won't even reconize the bible as a basic foundation for ones faith. there will probably be "Christian" porn sites, that have married couples giving instruction on great Christian sex, and Christian touching yourself sites that teach all sorts of self stimulating technics, and devices that can be purchased....its just one of the signs the bible points out in the end times
