I would much rather spell Wednesday as Wendsday. I wonder how they got that spelling.
Very interesting! I am always wondering about some words that have unusual spellings. How they come about, etc. If there are certain rules they follow that make spelling of a word so strange when it could be so simple.'Wednesday' comes from the Old (Anglo-Saxon) English wodnesdæg meaning "Woden's day". Woden (or Odin) was one of the chief Germanic (pagan) gods.
Most days of the week are named after Germanic gods while months tend to be named after Roman gods.
