Joachim and Anna, Mary's parents, were very old when they had her (much like Abraham and Sarah). So, no, Mary was an only child.

Never thought about it. Interesting question.

I never think of Jesus having family parties for holidays or birthdays as a child. What an interesting picture to see how He played with His cousins and interacted with possible aunts and uncles.

Her name wasn't Mary it was Salome! Mary wife of clopas was another person present.

This doesn't jive the term in-law is used dozens if not hundreds of times for brothers mothers sister and daughters throughout the old and new testament.
Why in this case would they not say Mary's sister in-law? when they do in every other situation.

Salome was the mother of James and Joses, wife of Zebedee and sister to Mary mother of Christ.

Essentially John was given the care of Aunt Mary upon Christs' crucifixion.

Salome was the mother of James and Joses, wife of Zebedee and sister to Mary mother of Christ.

Salome, the mother of James and John, is one of Joseph's daughters. It is one of the reasons she has the boldness to ask of Christ (her little step brother) that her sons be given the places at His left and right hand in His kingdom.
