This is a common form of right wing spin offered up regularly by right wing groups like the John Birch Society and so forth.

Unfortunately, it's not accurate. You can say advocates of coercive Government authoritarianism are "left-wing" and include in that the Bush Junta, the Nazis, the Communists, etc. Birchers claim to support "Limited Government" but what they mean is uncontrolled proliferation of firearms and rights of capital coupled with censorship, militarism, and forced religion.
