  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I love Martina, I think her songs are so beautiful. The message in them, they're amazing songs for women everywhere. She sings about God a lot, having faith, spirituality, which is so important to me. I love it.

The little girl in that video reminds me of my niece, who died in a car crash, so that probably has something to do with the fact that I can't stand to watch it.

That's really sad and I'm so sorry for your loss.

I think she's one of the greatest voices to happen to country music in decades! And she seems really nice, too.

I totally agree =)

My opinion of Martina McBride is she is commercial-grade country-pop much like Reba McEntire or Faith Hill, which I like, but performers like that tend to put out only a few songs which I really like as favorites. I like Martina's "Wrong Again" better than a lot of her other songs, for example. Maybe because such songs are different from their prevalent style or more profound or relevant.

Martina has real power, but not in a "diva" sense where she just screams a note for effect (e.g., Faith Hill and Shania Twain). Her voice is enthusiastic, esp. in her earlier years, but she can also sing ballads.

Her song "Valentine" with Jim Brickman is a good indication of where she would have ended up if she went MOR/crossover.

To me, she is just okay. I prefer her 90s music over her more recent material. Another reason why I am not as into her now is because of where she chooses to stand on a certain issue and that is because I believe that the Lord is not thrilled with anyone who chooses to stand where she is on the issue when his word says that the homosexual life style is an abomination.

God bless you and Martina always!!! :) :) :)

P.S. Wild Angels, Evolution, and Emotion are the albums from her that I got.
