  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I wouldn't be a cop right now, If my life depended on it. The attitude of the country is against law enforcement people and if anything would happen you would most likely be left out to dry.

As far as any marriage with a cop is concerned, I would look at it from this standpoint. every vehicle you pull over. every house you enter into is a potential war zone where you can only depend on yourself and the officers around you to watch your back. Your wife would know this and every day that you go to work she will be looking at the possibility that you won't be coming home.

I don't have any incite on the Christian views on such things, but I can in my mind visualize what it would do to and for your family.

I have had friends who were cops, and their track record is generally one of difficult marriages. Of course, 50% of all marriages end in divorce, but cops seem to have more problems than even that.

I think part of it is, they see the worst side of people all the time. It's difficult to be a tough, suspicious, authoritarian at work, and then be a tender, sensitive partner and parent at home.

Another factor is being understood (or not understood) by your spouse. Police work is such a unique vocation that people outside of it seem to have difficulty understanding the pressures of the job. If both spouses were cops, this might be easier...
