  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I had 3 babies before I was married (sort of)... I had one I gave up for adoption. I got pregnant again- but then married the father in a shotgun wedding when I was about 5 months- then we decided to give the baby up for adoption.

Then we got divorced and I got pregnant again--with our oldest son. We got married when he was two years old....I wanted to be SURE that my husband wanted to be married in the Church. Although while I was pregnant and up until the wedding we stopped having sex together.

I got pregnant with my next child about 3 months after we were married...

I was not (and have no plans to be) married. Unfortunately I made a bad choice with the wrong guy- but I welcome the miracle and the opportunity to turn my life around and be a good Christian mother to my son!

I guess I am the odd "man" out... we were married for almost 4 years before we got pregnate with Robert... we wanted to have time to adjust to being married before trying for a baby... that and we were living with his mom (long story, she was in her late 80's early 90's) I was on the pill from just about a couple months after we started dating till 2 to 5 months before I got pregnate with Robert. I found my birth mother about a month before I got pregnate with Robert, main reason was for family medical back ground... since both Ken and I were adopted...

I was blessed enough not to get pregnate before we got married though it could have happened both with Ken , and there was another guy right out of high school...

My husband and I have been married three years, and now we are pregnant! It was really nice to spend the time getting to adjust to each other, plus in the meantime we raised a horribly spoiled dog who is going to get a really rude awakening. He is our 'first' child, so in a way this feels like our second...

I was married a year and 9 nine months before getting pregnant. We really wanted that newlywed time without thinking about a baby coming.

Well ours was a surprise, we were going to wait until we had been married two years to start trying, but God had other plans for us.

Well said and the same goes for me. Not married and split up with the father shortly after finding out I was pregnant.

I got pregnant with my first and decided to NOT marry the father. I figured "2 wrongs do not make a right", and I decided to wait until my hormones weren't making me nutso anymore to make any life-alterning decisions. (I was backslidden at this time, but getting pregnant was a Huge wake-up call).

When my oldest DD was 7.5 months old, the L-rd showed me that I was not doing her any favors by refusing to let her have a daddy... so I contacted her father, he paid for us to come out and visit, and once I got here I knew we'd end up getting married. The L-rd confirmed it to me that my baby's father would ask me to marry him, and made it clear that I was to say yes. ;) When he did, I said yes, and G-d has worked out everything else. Wild ride... but worth it. :)
