  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I've seen a movie called The Fiddler on the Roof. I'ts about a Jewish family. Anyway A guy's daughter marries a greek they ignore her existence and to them she is now dead. I was wondering what are the MJ's views on marriage. Is it ok to marry a gentile. If not would you disown your daughter if she married gentile.

G-d Bless

most true Messianics feel the same way most true Christians do when a child marries outside the faith

In Judaism, for a child to marry outside of (non-Messianic) Judaism is a severe and tragic event - for it means the end of Judaism in that branch of the family. In the VAST majority of the cases the generations of children are lost to Judaism, no matter how well meaning their religious upbringing is. Therefore they ARE dead in a very real sense of the word. It is, in the sense of the core values of the perpetuation of Judaism as a commandment of G-d, as if the child had died and left no offspring. This is what HaShem means frequently when scripture states that doing or not doing such and such will cause one to be "cut off from Isreal."

The confusion of having both a Jewish and non-Jewish parent tends to nullify to impact of both. It is called assimilation and is a cancer that is eating away at the bowels of Judaism.
