  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Unfounded? Cursing during a sermon? Not having a confession as a standard? What would Machen say? Calvin? Spurgeon?

You stand behind a man who has done something good. So have many arminian pastors but it isn't proper nor biblical.

I'm sorry, brother - I just don't see things the way you do. If a Pastor preaches the gospel and people are turning to Christ as Lord and savior - then I really don't care what thelogical perspective they come from - weather it be arminian or calvinist - so long as the gospel is preached.

I see no call in scripture for a confession/standard to be used - so why is that even an issue?

I see no problem with cursing in a sermon - so long as it is used in context, not perverted, and not done consistently (cursing that is). This is done in scripture. Calvin did it. Luther did it.

I personally think Calvin and Spurgeon would be proud of Driscoll.

I am willing to agree with you in that perhaps Driscoll is not "proper" in his ministry. But "proper" by whose standards? Yours? Machens? MacArthurs? So he may not be "proper" - but he most certainly is biblical and if you don't think he is then you should not say in the same sentence that he has done something good.
