  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Like I said before, it was just icing on my belief that marijana is not God honoring.
Okay then: despite their resemblence to classic charicatures of irresponsibility, they were simply examples, to you, of people dishonoring their deity with their behavior. Yes?

Okay, then, new question: do you feel the state should keep marijuana both criminal and illegal? Why?

what would be the significant difference between "modern" and "ancient" alcoholic drinks, in regards to this standard you have described?
Alcohol content. One glass of modern wine has alcohol content equivalant to some obscene (perhaps a slight exageration) amount of glasses of "Jesus-day wine", or so I have heard.

I myself cannot understand why anyone would want to:

1. Break the law.
2. Abuse their bodies physically.
3. Waste their money.

For some ppl, breaking the law is nothing. I know right from wrong without pocketed politicians or foaming at the mouth preachers.

Weed is not abusive to the body. A bit harmful, yes. But the harm is outweighed by the gains, IMO at least.

And personally, I don't pay much for mine.

Try to look at it this way. If Jesus Christ came back today would you want to be seen huffing down that 5th hit of Jamaican Gold from your bong ?

I'ld tell him to take his coat off and have a seat.
Thanks, but
I prefer McDonalds.

Ick!!! You'ld have to put a gun to my head to get me to go in there.

Anything that puts you in another frame of mind takes you away from being your true self. It's an act of trying to get away from things, pushing problems away or trying to forget things you have done or wrongs that have been done to you. The high only covers them up for awhile and the hope that they will disappear will only disappoint adding more never less. It's a feel good moment that can blind a man from true emotions and replace them with a falsehood of lies.

Whoa! Don't step in the bs.

I don't smoke it to get away. I don't need to get away. I smoke because it enhances my life, not because it's gets me away from it. There are few things as fun as thinking when you stoned. It opens your mind up to so many different thoughts and angles. I've had some of my best debates while sky high.
Would you like me to fly you around the world in a Boeing 747 while I suck down a few hits from my bong?
Would you like me to care for your aging grandmother, who requires medication to live, after I finish my rasta joint?
Would you like me to drive your daughter around Manhatten after a sneek a hit from my concealed pinch hitter?
Would you like me to take care of your 2 month old daughter while a eat some pot brownies.
Does any of these scenarios honor God ??

Those are illresponsible actions that a vast majority of stoners are smart enough to recognize as foolish. Stoners know that there is a time to be stoned, and a time to be sober.

The ones that don't understand this usually end up in jail.

Well then please, enlighten us as to the real use of weed.

The hemp plant has tons of practical uses. It can be used for a very environmentally friendly paper and rope, to name a few.

Like all gifts, the hemp plant can be abused. We'll use sex as an example. Sex is a good thing, but rape is bad because it is an abuse of sex and violence.

It also has medicinal purposes. :)
It combats some of the nausea experienced by chemo patients and is also used by glaucoma patients...just to name a few.

We're not talking about hemp. We're talking about cannabis. The plant that naturally produces the THC chemical that results in the high. What is the purpose of that?

And what about shrooms? Or frogs? How about opium? These are all natural occuring mind altering drugs. Why would God make something that is sinful for us to use?

well, brightlights, if you believe everything that you hear, be my guest.
but i hope you don´t expect me to believe and spread this "knowledge", just because i have heard it now, as well.
don´t get me wrong: i don´t know anything about the alcohol content in drinks throughout the centuries. i just know, that wine naturally develops a certain amount of alcohol due to its production.
now, if i want to assume, that wine was produced differently, or used to be watered down or something back then, i would like to have a reliable source, or at least a reasonable theory, to begin with - as opposed to hearsay.
if you have such a source, i would be very interested and all ears. :)
