CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Okay both would be rational because an umbrella isn't an item you use once and throw away. Even if one were to buy an umbrella on the "don't/won't" day they can still use it later.

Look this isn't an apt analogy whatsoever. For starters even the average person can see a Cumulonimbus cloud in the sky and make a good guess that it will ran so they can have an umbrella prepared or buy one. The weather USED to be just like the god idea because we didn't know what causes the weather and used to believe that gods were behind the rain etc.
But now that we have proven methods that help us study and understand the weather our predictions are as close to accurate as we possibly can be and we're never not informed should we choose to be.
"God" is a completely different subject now. Because again we have no real basis to start looking and there's no hypothesis to get us going.
Now stop.
