Paul Manafort has "breached" his plea agreement with the Justice Department by lying to the FBI and special counsel Robert Mueller's office two months after he started to cooperate in the Russia probe, prosecutors alleged Monday.

Manafort states as part of the filing that he does not agree with prosecutor's description.

The filing is pretty short and to the point.

"After signing the plea agreement, Manafort committed federal crimes by lying to the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Special Counsel's Office on a variety of subject matters"

February Update: Update: Judge voids Paul Manafort plea deal, says he 'intentionally' lied to the FBI, special counsel and grand jury

Maybe he's counting on Whitaker and maybe Roger Stone and friend are as well.

Not to get into conspiracy theories, but the timing of this is interesting, coming after Trump submitted his answers to Mueller. It may be that Mueller let Manafort have a false sense of complacency, to try to determine who Manafort may be cooperating with, if anybody. If Trump's answers are patterned after Manafort's lies, that could be pretty significant.

But... this is nothing more than wild speculation on my part. Nothing to do but wait and see.

After flipping on Trump? Trump despises nothing more than disloyality.

True, but he desires nothing more than saving his own skin.

Seems like anyone can have an ethical dilemma regardless of ethics.

I’m not as charitable. I’m thinking more like 30 years...
I want to see how the GOP Congress members will handle it.

Trump could wait until his latest days in office where it wouldn’t cause him any real trouble. But where’s the fun in that?

The Guardian now reporting:

Donald Trump’s former campaign manager Paul Manafort held secret talks with Julian Assange inside the Ecuadorian embassy in London, and visited around the time he joined Trump’s campaign, the Guardian has been told.

The previously unreported Manafort-Assange connection is likely to be of interest to Mueller, who has been investigating possible contacts between WikiLeaks and associates of Trump including the political lobbyist Roger Stone and Donald Trump Jr.

I hope he gets a pardon.

Also, I don’t see how Manafort qualifies for a pardon...not a complete one at least. Didn’t he plead guilty to a heap of STATE crimes as part of his agreement? He can’t receive a Presidential pardon for those, can he...?

Crimes against the State? Why, the only crimes against the state are those nightly cable news shows!

No, that is why his plea deal was considered pardon proof. He pled guilty to state charges, so he would end up in jail regardless. His property will still be gone regardless of a pardon, also.

It continues to be such an interesting coincidence that all of these coffee boys worked for the campaign in 2016 and continue to lie about those crimes that they totally didn't commit.
