I believe I"d have to turn down a man like that. After putting out the flames. I'd put out the flames in more ways than one.

Edit: By the way, the link wouldn't work for me, so I didn't see the actual story; so, maybe I'm talking out of turn.

That was my first reaction, until I read the story. It's been sensationalised, like so much of the news. He actually set his cape on fire, then immediately jumped into a swimming pool. It's not like he set his whole self on fire, then dropped to one knee and proposed while still burning. It wasn't as bizarre as it sounds.

This is one example of why we need to read the news carefully. News sources will twist stuff around to get your attention.

This was my reaction before and after I read that. The whole idea, whether he set himself on file or a cape he's wearing on file, is not the brightest idea. I wouldn't impressed and would double-think about marrying this guy.

Dead link, Robert~ Error 503

other than that, may I say that he must be so a-flamed in love to do this...literally.

the link worked. finally got the chance to read it, and I'd have to say that is REALLY stupid of the guy to try to do the same thing what a professional does for a living.

I hope that this is the LAST time he pulls this stunt; no doubt he got the message AFTER the proposal: "you do this again, I'm outta here!"

Well, yeah. I don't think he's the sharpest tool in the shed, either. Wasn't my point.

Besides, marriage is a Catch-22 situation, anyway. Anyone crazy enough to want it, can't be trusted with it!!

(Kidding.)

Grannis came up with the plan with help from his friend, professional stuntman Eric Barkey, who pulled out a photo of himself on fire and told Grannis, "you could do that."

Sounds like it was planed out to be safer then if they would of done it without a Stuntman.
