Apparently a puffy cloud that sings an angelic harmony at 5pm, and only 5pm. Eastern Standard Time, Only.

Well it seems American scientists from the Salk Institute and scientists from a Catholic University in Spain, went to China (where is is legal) and created a human/monkey embryo. So it looks like we will be monkeys one day. And those foolish evolutionists thought it was the other way around.

Man After Man - Wikipedia

Evolution? Not as we know it. Artificially augmented humans are going to be the issue. In the corporatist case, only the very rich will be able to afford augmentation (i.e., Gattaca, Deus Ex). But I'm actually more afraid of the combination of socialized medicine with augmentation. There is no reliable evidence to falsify the idea that vaccines have more benefits than risks. Yet as a libertarian conservative, I believe you should have the right to refuse vaccination if you want. Other people don't share my belief. When it comes to crazed Leftists making the completely functional social institutions that we inherited from our ancestors fit their Procrustean bed of "equality," I have no doubt that they'll stoop to forcing people to receive augments as the only option that the government-subsidized healthcare will pay for.

Either way, it will suck.

I believe the nervous system will be the next thing to evolve most. We heavily depend on it for our survival in a modern society. We now have effectively five interconnected brains, four in the head (reptilian, limbic, neocortex, prefrtonal-lobes) and one in the heart/gut. Perhaps as in I-Robot we will have two centers of consciousness, on in the head and the other in the gut / body, connected by the vagus nerve.

Edit: Should include that vagus would only be one of many different connections (not to mention the spine ...)

And the two conflict every time I pass the bakery.

Probably not much unless we split into groups fundamentally separated by culture or location.

Right now there isn't much pressure on us to change genetically.

God created us just as He wants us. Nothing random...all by plan and engineering and design. Every step. I think this is actually what Darwin was thinking.

Like the good old days?
No, I mean a situation where moving from once culture to another was almost impossible. Or where thousands of generations might pass without much genetic intermingling.

Obviously if sub groups start using a lot of genetic engineering it might speed up this process.

Something with a built-in set of wheels would be good plus a little biological engine fuelled by farts. :)

I've trained mine to be in harmony. It helps a lot with more than just hunger.

Edit: It leads to the awakening of inner presence and enhanced body awareness.

I figure if I were to give any credence to my evolutionary fancy, there is literature on the brain-gut / brain - heart connection, and it can be developed with practice. Maybe our efforts at what ever we do pushes evolution in that direction.

So, here's a good book I draw from:

Cheers :) !
