Hi so what dose man in the image of God look like God tells us what he looks like

Hos 11:1 When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt

So if Israel is Gods son then he would look like his father so it seams man in the image of God is not one man but a whole nation so in seams to me the word man should be understood as mankind so God shall create mankind in his image his first attempt was Israel when Israel failed he began again with the gentiles.

Love and Peace

Matthew 2:13-15 KJV
13 And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him.
14 When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt:
15 And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son.

When Adam & Eve were created and before the fall ... they were the perfect image of God (they only knew good) ... an enemy showed up (satan) and when they sinned that tainted that image ... by their choice ... God allowed them to choose .... why? Because Love can not be forced it must be a choice or else it's not true love. All of us have that same choice today. Through Jesus one day all in Him will be transformed back into His perfect image (like before the fall). Until then we are on a battlefield (a continuous war) .... that battle/war is between God and satan ... but thankfully we know God/Jesus has won the war ... we look forward to His return to pick up all the survivors and end all sinl for eternity.

God is in complete control (He don't "attempt" things) .... He allows things to go on .... goes beyond our understanding at times ... because we lose sight of the big picture .... that big picture is that God WILL restore all things through Jesus and those in Him will be restored into perfection ... just as it was before the fall ... fully conformed to His image and for eternity no less.

We look forward to the new heavens and new earth that God will create for His restored (redeemed) perfect people ... living in a sinless world for eternity .... His original plan for mankind (before the fall) will indeed come into full fruition at His return.

That is the first thing that makes any sense.
In the book: "What would Jesus do" we are asked how many people are like Jesus?
How many people do not lie, cheat or steal to put money in their pocket?

Us being created as an image of God means we reflect God's glory and righteousness. Like a mirror.
Sin corrupted us, we are still images of God, but a broken one. God calls us to His Son to restore us, as His true and perfect image.

I've often thought that one attribute that God gives to us is that we love to create, just like He does. And when we are finished we appraise whatever we created and say, "Wow, this is good." And then we want everyone to admire what we've done... just like He does.

What His children learn to do though, is give HIM all the glory for what He creates through us.

I dunno... thats just one example to me of what "made in His image" means.

So man in the image of God cannot be a man of flesh because God is spirit so we must be changed as Jesus Christ shows us through his death and resurrection he was raised up as a spiritual being and entered into the presence of the Father.
We also must be changed how will we be changed

‭Acts 1:5 ESV‬
[5] for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”

Its the baptism of the spirit we must seek when we are baptized with Sprit we die to the flesh and enter the body of Christ.

Peace to all,

Thanks in advance, this is just my logic in the Spirit in the Salvific process. To me the faith this is written in is perhaps some form of universal faith. Can someone please advise on what faith this would be considered written or to what faith this information belongs too? And /or perhaps if it is correct in the wording?

Please advise if I have made error of any sort, thanks in advance for any feedback or re input of missing teachings or errors, I am just searching as we all are. Thanks again in advance, Stephen.

Potato, Potatoe? The same? Maybe.
Transformed, Transfigured? No, they are not the same.
We are transformed as immortal and incorruptible at Baptism and we are through the Communion of The Christ able to be transfigured, manifested by the Divine spirit in the soul of the being becoming the image of the Creator, God, The Father in The Christ united as Our Being as one with Him and The Father, with all mankind, together by the Power of the Spirit, eternal, The Word. The Word to me is the eternal authority that became flesh as The Christ, conceived by the Power of the Divine Spirit. The Spirit will of God gloriously transfigure the regenerated spirit of the confirmed being in the glorified spirit will into the image of The Father. We become glorified and transfigured into the pattern of Our Creator only through re-sanctification and confirmation of the Spirit in the soul of the Body of The Christ through Him by contact.

My understanding is that Paul delivered the Pentecost to the Gentiles through The Temple of Their Unknown God. And St. Peter was with him. Peter said, who would not Baptize with water those St. Paul Baptized with fire in the Spirit to the Gentiles.

To me salvation is through the Logic of the Divine Spirit and is we are "transformed" into the as confirmed in the Spirit will of God in Baptism and reconfirmed and regenerated through Christ’s Sacrifice then becoming "transfigured" in the image of God in Heaven as fulfilled Eternal Love through the fulfillment of the Old Covenant.

We are "Transformed' through Baptism then "Transfigured" through the Sacrifice of The Body of Christ.

In some religions Baptism is referred to as the Sacrament of the Dead. It is through Baptism that we Become glorified through the process of death and resurrection into the Body of Christ. To me, this is the reason perhaps Christ accepted Baptism from His cousin John and just like Her son Mary wanted to to die like Jesus in Her flesh, Mary, who Jesus Baptized into becoming gloriously transfigured as The Christ in Her Body of God, Her God and all God, and all mankind's God, because all disciples become, all mankind becomes gloriously transfigured, through the will of the Father becoming into the Body of God, united. And all as one in being through the Divine Spirit, together with the Father and the Son, as glorified. This is to me the Logic of the Eternal, some say "Holy" Spirit, the Divine Spirit will of God. To me salvation is The Word that becomes Eternal Living Flesh.

To the the altering face is the altering of "The Being," the spirit in the soul of the Body. What happened at Creation to me logically is from the mortal and corrupt flesh and spirit in the souls of the Created Adam and Eve who tried to cover their guilt with a failed attempt at using a fig leaf for repentance of sin failed. They tried to cover their shame with a manmade solution, the fig leaf, and God told them do not use the fig leaf, a manmade solution to salvation, but use the Chosen sacrifice of the innocent animal, and cover the Body from head to toe in it's life and spirit, the blood of the innocent animal. Through the animal sacrifice in the blood of the animal through it's death to allow the guilty to go free, to become alive in the spirit again and again through Him in repentance and communion, they become alive again in the spirit to manifest life for the spirit until His return for the redemption of the Body of the Christ in US all. Through generations to Moses, and the Arc of the Covenant Laws and sacrifice, the spirits in the souls of the beings are saved, but not in the flesh. Awaiting in the Bosom of Abraham and through faith of Abraham, his descendants are promised , sworn by God Himself as eternal eternal life of the Body to all the descendants, Promised and 2000 years later is fulfilled by the Arc of the New Covenant through the Immaculate Conception and the Virgin Birth of The Christ. Our Own Christ becomes immortal and incorruptible in the spirit in the soul through Body of the New Eve becoming into The Christ at the Baptism of John. This is the logical introduction of the Being into the Body of The Christ, the transformation of the being as immortal and incorruptible in the Baptized Christ, the Body, becoming sanctified in the spirit in the soul of the being through the flesh, and now in the Body Of The Christ, The Church, as a Disciple of Christ from the Cross. And through the re-sanctification of the will of the Father in the Communion in the spirit is what regenerates by the Power of and in the Person of the Divine Eternal Unfailing Spirit in the soul of the being in the Christ. Salvation become US, in the Body of God becoming gloriously transfigured and never has to be repentant again, as unfailing and immortal and incorruptible becoming into the pattern, into becoming the image of the Creator, God, the Father in Heaven.

Adam and Eve lost access to the Tree of Life and mortality of the flesh now mortality and the failed spirit becomes intrinsic as internal temptation and choice to the Bodies of the descendants of Adam and Eve. Becoming "transformed" immortal and incorruptible is the Body of Our Christ through Mary through the Virgin Birth of The Christ as immortal and incorruptible and becoming gloriously transfigured as reconfirmed through the regenerated Creator Spirit in the soul of the "transfigured" being in the Christ, the Body of God shared through the Divine Spirit as one in being in union with all mankind together with the Father and the Son, glorified and Transfigured.
Salvation is the Newly Baptized Spirit confirmed in the soul of the being in the Body to manifest without failure by the Sacrifice of The Christ, as the regenerated and re-confirmed Unfailing Eternal Spirit will of the Father becoming the will of The Father manifesting all beings into becoming Transfigured into The Body of Christ shared by all mankind as "What would Jesus do in all cases of fulfilled faith and morality." The Exodus.

To me, the logic of the Christ, Our Temple of the Living God, The Spirit Person in Our soul in our Being in the Body of God is in the Transfiguration of Our Being.

Thanks again and please update if I have misrepresented any teachings in error.

Peace always,
Stephen

Hi Stephen Andrew thank you for your post a very interesting read so I decided to bump up this thread as I believe man in the image of God is very important.
The best examples we have is Israel and Christ at his second coming when he stands before the throne of God the Father with a whole multitude of believers.

Hi so what dose God look like nobody knows nobody has seen him what we do know is God is spirit and as such can appear as anything he likes.

Gen 3:22 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:

So to be like God we must have a knowledge of good and I think we have a good knowledge of evil the world is full of it what we need to do is to aquire a knowledge of good this we can find in the word of God especially the words of Jesus Christ and the best way to comply with His words is through love we must love God a nd our neighbours.
When God said

Gen 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

When he said make man I believe the word man should be read as mankind consider when Christ returns and presents himself before the Father with a whole multitude of believers this is man in the image of God and the heavenly host.

Love and Peace
