I'm often amazed by people who go to the effort to defend intolerance and hate speech.

Why can't people just learn that society is made up of all sorts, and you don't need to get them to conform. Just be nice to everyone, rather than waving swastikas or defending people who wave swastikas.

BE NICE and stop judging people.

They've gotten their propaganda on all major TV networks, and in school classrooms all the way down to Kindergarten. They have it taught and promoted in the military, and even get favored for their advocacy of sexual perversion when selected by the biden administration for high level leadership roles. Their rainbow flag is flown above state capitols, and their books are pushed in public and school libraries. They get to flaunt their perversity in front of the public in street parades, and get to bring children into strip clubs to teach the kids how to be like them.
Looks like a lot more than a "tiny little bit of cultural power".
What are people so afraid of, they’re still less than 10% of the population as a whole?

And comedy has always been the one bastion of freedom for inappropriate irreverent and irresponsibility. And now they are being cancelled too.

So when racists face consequences for saying what they do - they are actually the victims...
Telling racist jokes doesn't make you racist.
Telling sexist jokes doesn't make you sexist.
Telling ____ist jokes doesn't make you ____ist.
Keep filling in the blanks however you like.

I'm amazed at people defending the authorities for throwing people in jail for posting a meme someone was offended by.

Who's the more intolerant?
The guy who posts a meme or the guy who supports throwing the guy in jail for posting it?

You mean the guys who post hate messages against a minority group
or the guys looking to defend the minority group against public displays of hate and bigotry?

It would be great if society didn't need to punish bigots and haters, but unfortunately there are bigots and haters in society who would just love to gather a crowd and run the minorities out of town.

Nope they specifically said it for trans issues.

No he has done them on a lot of children. He hasn't done one yet on one as young as 12, but he said he would.

Because they have been removed from the websites where they we originally posted. The hospitals took them down.
When videos get "widely distributed" that means they get shared on multiple platforms. If the videos were actually real anti-trans people would be copying and pasting them every where as a means of feeding hysteria.

Because jokes make people laugh. The topic has nothing to do with whether a joke works or not. And if it works, it's funny.

With all the things defended around here that’s the one that amazes you?

Not always. Sometimes the topic is painful or singles out a person for ridicule.

Yeah, if you burn a cross on your own property, there's not much the law can do about it. If you do it on someone else's property, it can be seen as a form of terrorism, because it's an implied threat to the lives of the property owners.

I think even on your own property there are laws about dangerous burnings, since something like that can get out of of control especially during certain times of the year.

The Bible told us not to discriminate long before anti-discrimination laws were written. We're all sinners and all are welcome. Prostitutes for example attended the first churches. That doesn't mean the church condones sin and it certainly doesn't mean the church promotes sin by flying LGBT (lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, transgender) flags. Recognizing two men having a sexual relationship aka sodomy as sin is not "homophobia". That's a word that was invented to try getting people to accept what God calls an abomination as acceptable.
Homophobia is when someone hates the sinner instead of the sin. I think the flag is not a symbol condoning the act of homosexuality. I think it means that everyone s welcome. there are churches you will get run out of for revealing your LGBTQ status. I don't think right. Like you said, "We are all sinners and all welcome."

Making a cross burning comply with fire ordinances isn’t exactly hard. With them usually taking place in rural areas the laws are few and far between.

Freedom includes the freedom to be out and proud about one’s bigotry.

But not freedom from consequences. Something the right has proven over decades of trying to get anyne pro lGBTQ and such fired. Always kinda hilarious watching the side that created cancel culture whining about consequences. The right is famously pro ccancel anything they don't like.

It’s about freedom from state sanction such as the person in the OP faced.

The topic LITERALLY right below here about library closed because they wouldn't cancel LGBTQ books.
dixie chics.
All the people the right have tried to stop for not being trump sycophants.
Trying to get any pro LGBTQ percieved or real off the air.
