  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I know this film isn't out in the States for a few days but it's been released in quite a few European countries now, including the UK, where I live.

Without going into too much detail and spoiling it, let me just say that this was hands down the happiest, most uplifting, most fun movie I've ever been to see. The audience absolutely LOVED it, big applause at some points and at the end of the film. Meryl Streep was amazing, a real tour de force performance from her. It was generally cast very well though. I DEFINITELY recommend that you go and see this, with as many people as possible!!

I saw it today and loved it!! SOOO much fun.
I had huge misgivings about seeing it. I mean, I loved the Broadway play, but I had heard "S.O.S." with Meryl Streep and Pierce Brosnan in all of the tv interviews and hated it. Well, I have to admit, after seeing it today I still hated Pierce Brosnan's singing voice. (I'm sorry, but I actually felt sorry for him.) BUT, he was so terrific in the rest of the role, that I loved him.
The movie is fun, mindless, silly, and a great escape. I grinned like a goon all the way through it.
