​ ​ It is now the worst cholera outbreak Malawi has ever seen. Over 1,000 people have died. The cholera outbreak began in March 2022. But fatalities doubled in this last month. What’s worse, Malawi is one of the poorest nations in the world. In impoverished communities with little access to clean water, a deadly disease like cholera spreads quickly. Thankfully, the people in this beloved nation are no strangers to the Gospel. Many of Malawi’s 20 million people have chosen to follow Jesus! Although the Church suffers from lack of resources and educational opportunities, mature believers are rising up. Amid terrible suffering, sickness, and loss, the Malawian Church stands as a beacon of TRUST in the One who sustains their FAITH — Christ alone. They need physical healing and assurances of eternal hope.
