  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I absolutely love this look. I think the simple winged liner and longer lash look is probably the goal of my makeup everyday.

A few months ago I tried eyelash extensions. They gave a longer and thicker lash look but without any of the daily adhesive problem. Just an idea if you're looking to splurge on something fun and pretty one day. :) I liked them a lot!
Oh! Thanks for the tip. :)

I will say for my blue eyes that any color of brown works really well for me, or like a dark yellow, burnt orange, basically fall colors. And light greens to medium greens.

I'm currently in need of my beauty rest, so I won't write much now, but since I already have this video in an open tab I'll go ahead and share it. The only times I've consistently worn makeup during the week have been during internships when I wanted to look more polished, but I am now experimenting with it more for fun.

My peacock obsession extends to my makeup preferences, haha.

I wonder what is best for hazel eyes.
(I've only worn makeup just a few times in my life. But eye makeup is interesting to me.)

Hazel would be considered a shade of brown, so whatever colors work best for brown eyes would also work for hazel eyes.

Did you try this tutorial? How did it turn out if so? :)

I love watching tutorials about make up and hair dying. :bigeye: But I've tried tutorials before and I don't know if I just don't have the gift, or it actually does take a lot of practice but dude it never looks like what they do on the video, haha.

I know one year for halloween I did a "candy skull" and it was so pretty in the youtube tutorial and I ended up looking like a purple raccoon. I have pictures but I choose not to completely humiliate myself, haha.

I'm surprised by how much makeup costs. I went to Ulta with my girl and she spent a small fortune on makeup. I don't know why that stuff in the bottle they put all over their face is that pricy. She got some eye shadow pack with a bunch of colors, it was about $55.

Also what kind of blush do you girls use?
I use a Physicians Formula blush, most days. I buy one of the products that includes different shades. I can use it to create a noticeable pigment, or I can keep it natural and subtle.
Do you use anything more than blush (like contouring, bronze, etc)?
I've tried to do some contouring with a powder I have that's a bit darker than my skin tone, but I don't want to buy a product just for that.

Me too! It's really expensive. And yeah they really get you over a barrel with palettes (the eyeshadow packs) because they usually name it something cool or it's colors based on a movie. Like Alice in Wonderland, Beauty and the Beast, etc. And then they tack on a price sticker of $50 and people buy it. And online they buy stuff like that for even more.

I saw makeup brushes...Makeup..brushes. Not even make up, but the appliers, that were formed into roses and called the "beauty and the beast brush set" and I think just for the 4 brushes it's like $55...

With that being said I've never been to Ulta but 'd love to go, haha. I don't think I could pay that much for brushes though.

Over at wal mart I can get some Pure Ice nail polish for $2 a bottle, thats good enough for me.

I've heard a lot of good things about PF cosmetics, I really would like to get some of their eyeliner too.

Do you like powders or cream?

I have a blush color that is raved about as being universally flattering, and yet on my skin it sort of makes me look like Ronald McDonald's daughter. The color is called [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] (haha) and it's by NARS. It's a joyful peachy-pink that really does look beautiful on almost everyone else. I also have blush that's in this small eyeshadow and blush palette by Stila called Perfect Me, Perfect Hue that has a pale pink blush and a peach blush. I think I'm applying blush incorrectly, perhaps too heavy-handedly, because it also clownish on me.

I love the perfume Happy by Clinique, and Clinique is having a promotion at Saks right now where if you spend a certain amount you get this really pretty gift bag filled with makeup. I might also look at their blushes while there. If I don't get one by Clinique I think I'm going to try out Dandelion by Benefit. You can get it in a travel-size box. I'm going to South Africa next month, and will have some events there where I want to dress up a bit and look more polished, so I'm trying to select some makeup for it.

I haven't ever had much success with cream blush. It seems to just look splotchy on me, so I stick with powder. I don't use bronzer or highlighter or anything else. I don't actually wear makeup routinely, but when I do it's not very elaborate.

I did try the peacockesque blue and green tutorial, and I LOVED it! I didn't have the MAC eyeshadows she used, but I have a Stila palette with similar colors.

I love watching tutorials, too, even though I rarely end up following them, haha. They're oddly relaxing to me late at night when I'm wanting to unwind my mind before going to sleep. I'm odd. :)

I did follow a tutorial when I did my friend's makeup for a special event we attended! I shared a picture here.

This is one of my favorite YouTube makeup artists:
MissouMakeup

She's only a few years older than I am and we have similar coloring, so I find her tutorials to be ideal for me.
