  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

RPG: War of the Empires
Name: Roslo McFarin
Race: Ka'arath
Age: 147

Physical Appearance: 3'6" with blue eyes and a long, red beard that extends down to his waist and a medium complexioned skintone.

Background: Major Roslo McFarin, son of Rakin McFarin, commands the Trader HN-57, which he affectionately calls Betty. Recently, due to an increase in hostilities, he has modified Betty to include several point defense turrets, a cloaking device, a basic hyperdrive system, a second missle rack, and multiple escape pods. All of this came at the cost of even more limited cargo space, and though it was through his own ample discretionary funds given to him by the Elders, they still looked down upon his purchases as overly paranoid and frivolous.

Needless to say, Roslo still resents the Elders' reprimand, citing that only one of them has been offworld in the past hundred years, and none of them realize the increasing dangers that Roslo and his crew faces while abroad. Without the Elder's knowledge, Roslo is also in the process of establishing his own trading company independent of the Elders, which, while not uncommon for Ka'arathi businessmen, would seem to the Elders as just a way for him to gain more funds to equip his ship as more weapons.

Details about the Ka'arath: The Ka'arathi homeworld of Ka'ara (hence the name) is, on the surface, a barren desert world with jagged canyons, vast sandy wastes, and little else. Which is exactly why the Ka'arath have inhabited the interior of the planet in an intricate network of caves and tunnels for the past several thousand years. Beneath the planet's surface, vast underground lakes and rivers supply water to massive cities hewn out of Ka'ara's rock layers, and over the past few centuries, the Ka'arath have become reknowned for their elegant gardens and architechture. Technologically, they are at least on a par with Humans, though they have never had the desire for expansion that humans have. Perhaps it is their low birthrate and the size of their planet that has not given them a reason to colonize other world's than their planet's only moon, Rengan, a volcanic, mineral rich world that is similar to what Ka'ara was in its infancy. Perhaps it is their live and let live nature that cause them to avoid galactic politics in general. They have only recently built up their starfleet, and really only use it for two purposes: trade or protecting their own interests.

Physically, the Ka'arath resemble the dwarves of medeival legends, and in many ways, the two are similar. Both are short and stocky, with long beards, both prefer to live underground, and both pretty much deal with their own affairs and let others deal with theirs. Their average lifespan is 147 years, placing Roslo at middle age.
