Major Prayer Request

They are supposedly lowering that threshold each month for 2018, but as of right now according to my attorneys I must score a 7.5 in the test's writing section and an 8 in the readng section just to raise my CRS to approximately 415, or else I simply have no chance of getting selected during any drawing. Because I just do not do well on standardized tests like this, I scored a 6.5 in both sections where I am lacking the first time, and to raise them to 7.5 and 8 seems like a daunting task. And it's ridiculous to me that despite my education and work experience in the science and technological field, my CRS right now is way below the lowest threshold, and that just doing a little bit better on two of the four sections on this IELTS test determines right now whether I even score just barely high enough to have a chance at being selected during any of the drawings. Just this one thing. This one test.

If ever a doubting believer needed tangible proof that God does exist and does care, it is now. He has been most gracious; I received my language test results this morning, and they are exactly the scores I needed to raise my CRS to minimum and at least have a chance of getting picked every drawing for express entry immigration, however small.

I must inform my attorneys of this and mail my results to them tomorrow so they can integrate them into my immigration candidate profile. It may be another two weeks or so to hear back from them on where to go from here, if there is anything left to do to help or prepare for being selected, so who knows? It may be as much as a few years before I finally get selected, but, at least I know I have a chance, now, and that it will eventually happen. I believe with my CRS now raised above 400 I can also look into getting a provincial nomination to improve the odds dramatically. Perhaps in the meantime while waiting to be selected I will start looking for work back east, in Shreveport where I last came from, or southern Arkansas where I grew up and went to college, or even Chattanooga Tennessee where most of my family is.

Hey, everyone. A slight update on this long arduous path to becoming Canadian. ^-^

I did say back in January that I got just the right score on that test to make it so that I have the minimum required CRS score to have any chance at all of being selected for Express Entry immigration during the "drawing" that occurs every two weeks. It will be a long wait, perhaps, but, I came across the prospect of a more ... temporary arrangement, a program called "Work Canada", whereupon I may be able to actually go there sooner than anticipated and start a work life there while waiting to achieve permanent residency through Express Entry.

I brought this up to my attorneys and they said they would glad to help, but I need to study this more, how it works and all, before committing. More importantly, I need to set aside time to really pray about this, if God would want me to try this program to get to Canada sooner. I cannot take this lightly.

Please pray with me that I will receive clear guidance from the Spirit on this, and that if His answer is yes, that He will help me to understand how this works well enough as I commit to it.

Well, in this it appears the Spirit has said no, for me to wait on His timing. He does not want me to pursue this work program to get to Canada sooner. I must admit on one hand I am disappointed, but if He wishes for me to be patient and wait to be chosen for permanent residency instead, in His time, then that is what I must do.

I am fortunate, to at least have this clear, physical guidance from Him whenever I inquire of Him pertaining to a choice I face in life, according to the principle of 1 John 4:1-3.
