My undergraduate was in Psychology. I believe that this is a good degree for my ministry -- I have been called to preach. However, when I was in college, I was in the midst of running from God. I was trying to decide what to major in -- I closed my eyes and put my finger down in the school catalog. My finger landed on "Psychology". I believe now that it was God preparing me for my ministry.

Another good degree is Sociology. Depending on what your ministry is, you might consider a business degree. As much as we may not like to admit it, business skills are crucial to running a ministry. Just think about -- we need to be able to manage people, create and stick to budgets, etc.

This is just my $0.02 worth...

I have a B.S. in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. This degree has gotten me more places to minister than any Bible degree has ever gotten me. I have taught in both public and private schools along with being a youth pastor. My church youth group was only about 20 kids, but the kids I was reaching each year for the last four years has been about 130 kids per year. I start my Masters this fall at seminary, and then my PhD. Ultimately I am trying to teach in a college / seminary.
