  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I have a few simple questions.

1) What is your major?
2) What is your minor?
3) What caused you to choose those two subject areas to specialise in?
4) How do you plan to use those subjects to accomplish

Those last two questions are the most interesting to me. I have heard of some very unusual major/minor combinations, and I am always fascinated by both the motivation behind them, and how they would be useful.

My major is Religion with a specialization in womens ministry. My minors are Biblical studies and psychology.

I plan to pursue my masters in counseling. I hope to work with underprivileged and at risk women both within the church and out.

My major is English, with a concentration in creative writing. No minor for me. I chose it 'cause it's what I'm passionate about - I've been writing for years and want to do it professionally. It's my hope to make a living publishing my works and possibly working as an editor.

I chose two majors and no minors... though it is tempting to get a minor too, I think I'll just focus on majors.
My double major I'm planning on is Christian Studies: Biblical Languages, and History..... I suppose Biblical languages could be a minor.. it's an 18 unit concentration.
I chose them because I have an extreme interest in them, seems useful to me, and nothing else seems right.
I hope to use them in some sort of ministry or missions, and for writing.

1) What is your major?
Linguistics and Spanish double-major
2) What is your minor?
Political science and English
3) What caused you to choose those two subject areas to specialise in?
I love learning about words, languages, grammar, etc. (linguistics, Spanish, English). Political science was my original major until I realized I pretty much hate the subject, but I took enough poli-sci classes and earned enough credits to use it as a minor...so I might as well. It adds a little diversity to my transcripts, lol.
4) How do you plan to use those subjects to accomplish
I have no idea. I'd love to do editing work for a newspaper or publishing company, but I also would enjoy teaching English as a Second Language...I'm still unsure as to how these concentrated areas of study will impact my career path.

1) What is your major? Veterinary Technology
2) What is your minor? Large animal veterinary Technology
3) What caused you to choose those two subject areas to specialise in? I love animals, and just couldn't quite get the hang of the classes I need to take to get into veterinary school. I enjoy it, some of it has to do with my parents. They really want me to do the large animal minor, I kinda go back and forth on it.
4) How do you plan to use those subjects to accomplish? I plan to use it to help animals, keep them healthy, and help the owners with their pets. I'm also hoping that God will show me some way to use it as a ministry. People generally are so attached to their pets I'm hoping I can let the love of God show through me.

1) What is your major?
I'm majoring in sociology.
2) What is your minor?

Okay, this will sound weird, but ballet. My university offers ballet classes (I'm obsessed)and I just took enough to have a minor so why not. =D
3) What caused you to choose those two subject areas to specialise in?

Well I chose sociology because I really want to work with abused and neglected kids. I really feel I'll be able to spread God's love this way.

My major is early childhood through 4th grade education and my minor is either music or speech not sure yet. I chose this major /minor combo because I love children and because I have always loved music and been involved in all type of music. I might go with speech though as a minor because my mom has always said I could debate with a wall if it could talk and I think speech would help me in the classroom too.

1. My major is Political Science.
2. I don't have a minor officially, but I'm thinking of minoring in French since I've already taken so many classes.
3. Politics, law, governmental theory, philosophy, etc are interesting to me.
4. I have no idea. I really want to perhaps assist in setting up healthcare and education systems in third world countries.

Would that be truly a cause to celebrate? It'd be better to just live life.. not to deter you from your major.
Currently, I'm officially "undecided", and I go to a secular college.

) What is your major? (It'll probably be Religious Studies)
2) What is your minor? (History or Psychology..or something..)
3) What caused you to choose those two subject areas to specialise in? (Interest.)
4) How do you plan to use those subjects to accomplish (It'll get me into another school, which will allow me to accomplish my goals which will be ministry oriented.)

1) What is your major? Elementary Education
2) What is your minor? Biology

4) How do you plan to use those subjects to accomplish. I believe it would be nice to have some christian educators in our school systems... even though we may not be able to preach about God's love, it can show through us :D
