I'm currently perfecting my Blue/Artifact deck. Tinker + Darksteel Colossus. Muahah.
lol, sucks to be you. tinker has been banned from 1.5 extended. unless your playing with no banned cards... lol, if thats the case, you wouldn't want to play against me :D

redemption is a great replacement for magic. it is completely Bible based and is also quite fun.
<--- perfect example of denile, redemption SUCKS, and i wouldn't advise anyone to play it. ..its freaking worse than yu-gi-oh...

but ceadmon, your ripping yourself off. check around your town for tourneys and such, i am sure you will be able to find a place with other players.

...and dont resort to playing kids, so you can win...they can be pretty tough. :D

Just today I was having an argument with a friend of mine who claims that Catholicism "has condemned" Magic: the Gathering because it deals in the black arts. Now this right off hand is a very rediculous and ignorant statement, but does anyone know of any dogma given by the Catholic Church stating clearly what constitutes as black magic (or more specifically, why card games do are not).

Just as a random magic the gathering related thing I'm just going to throw out there that Skullclamp should be banned in Type II. It's doing to Type II exactly what Tinker did to extended. Really. The situations are almost identical.

Im going to have to dissagree. If you look at the Regional's results from over in Europe, there is a pretty healthy metagame. In fact, if you go to starcitygames.com you can see a breakdown of the results from a recent british regional tourny. The only two decks right now abusing the clamp are Ravager Affinity and Goblin Bidding. Right now, there is so much artifact hate running around that that Rav aff is being nuetered. It might be an insande deck, but there may be too much hate in the enviroment holding it back.

absolutely. I have decks of several colors. In general i really dont like playing white. I just don't like the flavor to it, not a weenie fan, too defensive, and doesnt do enough for me. My favorite colors to play are green black and blue, i just like how they work.

I'm just the opposite. I love playing with an all-white deck. I built one that I really enjoy playing with, mostly because it's completely stupid. It has four Crusades, and some really awful old 1 white creatures. Anyone remember 'Clergy of the Holy Nimbus?' Four of those, a couple Tundra wolves, white knights, etc.

Unfortunately, there really isn't anyone else around here to play with. Most of my cards are from Revised/4th Edition. I have no idea what new cards are out, or what decks you guys are talking about.

With as many black cards that require that you sacrifice life in order to perform actions, I don't see how anyone can win with a black deck.
Its self descrution to an extent. Destroy your own, and your opponents health, and do the same with your creatures then regenerate yours.

Its the best colour in 1.5, but they banned its best cards. So its almost usless.

So who all is going to Regionals, and if you are going, what do you plan on running?

I'm going with a mono red rift. The only thing I'm a little worried about is if I end up playing Mono White Control. I'm not sure that Culling Scales is enough to hold back Circle of Protection: Red.

I would love to go to regionals, but im not sure if i can make it. this is what i would run

4 Reap And Sow
4 Tooth and Nail
4 Solemn Simulacrum
4 Oxidize
3 Minslaver
3 Oblvion Stone
3 Fireball

1 Darksteel Colosus
1 Leonin Anubas
2 Platinum Angel

11 Forest

3 Temple of the False God

Sideboard

3 Damping Matrix

[edit] Oh, and Midnight Star, how would you intend on dealing with R/G Land Destruction? That tends to be a problem with 12 Post. [/edit]One more week, can't wait. Unfortunately, logic does prove otherwise as it happens I am waiting at the moment. But it's a figure of speach, so it's ok. Anyways, I went to the PT Seattle Qualifier (Team Limited Format) and I am a little dissatisfied with the judging staff. We lost our opening match fair and square, and then we won the second and third match. Going into the next round however, some odd happenings occured. One being a judge refusing to answer a rulings question. And then another occured as the same judge made a mistake and then gave me a warning. Needless to say, I lost. Then one of my team mates won their match with no problems with the judging staff. Now everything lies in my friend Mark. He is up 1-0 and has the game in his hands. The opponent ends up in a really bad situation, and just sits there for at least 5 minutes. And then he calls the same judge that got after me to come over. And then they go over what happened, and the judge once again makes an innaccurate ruling decision favoring them. But it's alright, it doesn't make much difference as the kid is going to be hit in the face with a giant Fireball the next turn. So Mark declares the Fireball and says "Die", and starts cleaning up. Then of course the opponent points out that he didn't tap any mana for it. Mark ends up losing the game. This one game ended up costing us a trip to Pro Tour Seattle. Yeah, I know I'm whining, but that's ok. It makes me feel better.

I would plan on dealing with it in 2 ways.

1) dont worry about it. really theres not a whole lot you can do about it except hope that you can accelerate faster than they can.

2) Add 1 plains and 3 sacred ground to the sb.

One way to go about it is to use more talismans, the problem is though that you'll just get them to play all their artifact hate from the sideboard in the next match up. Its a tough match up to say the least, but i think its a fairly draw dependent matchup as well. realistically, you more lands than they have ways to blow them up. Plus you have ways to search for land, and non-land/non-artifact mana producers. If i knew that LD was going to be a big player in the metagame, i would consider adding birds of paradise to the deck, simply to create less destructable mana.

As it stands now i dont know sacred ground is necessarily worth the sideboard space. If they happen to run naturalize in their sb then it really gets interesting and even more draw dependent. In my more casual play group where artifact hate doesnt run rampant, my deck list is bit different. I run 6 talismans. that gives me 10 ways total hit 4 mana on turn three, which i think is crucial, allowing you to reap and sow or solemn a turn earlier. As its built right now (I'll post it later), I usually tooth and nail between turn 5-7, with the occasioan turn 4. If its a slow draw, i usually can use the slaver or stone to keep myself in good shape till i can TaN.
