Because in thousands of years of existence, we never have.
For a thousand years of existence man never went to the moon. It does not mean they could or would not in the future.

If it was man's plan it would have to fit into our default setting. It does not. It runs opposite. So the idea is not of man.
That is not good evidence. Again, just because you cannot think of another reason man wrote it does not mean man did not write it. You need good evidence that a god wrote it.

We're getting a little off topic I suppose. I could probably talk for hours about why I trust the Bible. Or about why literally all ancient cultures had a supernatural world view. But I might start with Paul, who claimed that observing the creation was sufficient to lead one to Deism. Not Christ, mind you, but Deism. I think his words are still true and his conclusion can be reached from a study of microbiology.

How does microbiology lead to a conclusion of a god existing?

Paul had a low standard of evidence for belief. Just because you don't know how our world occurred naturally does not mean that a god did it. The answer Paul should have had was "I don't know"

That's not on topic here (the image of God) but if you start a thread about it I'll weigh in.

Thanks for explaining your belief. I think likeness is very subjective. I don't think a breeze is like a hurricane at all.
I have agreed with much that you have stated and asked in this thread, but not your statement here. It verges on being silly. [I think that may be a euphemism for infantile, but I don't want to encourage an emotional reaction. ]
  • The causes of breezes and hurricanes are the same
  • Many, probably most, of the parameters for describing breezes and hurricanes are the same.
  • The nature of breezes and hurricanes (movement of air molecules) are the same.
  • The medium of breezes and hurricanes are the same.
  • Even the student of breezes and hurricanes are the same: meteorologists.
People and dogs have two ears, eyes, hair, lungs a nose and feet etc. But if you look at the distinguishing qualities and differences in the lungs, eyes, nose, hair etc. We are not very much alike.
As above. We and dogs are more alike than people and alligators, more alike still than people and fish, etc,.

What are the odds of every human suddenly loving all as self?
Low at present. Yet despite the pessimists and the doomsayers and the present crises, we are progressing slowly towards times of less violence adn more cooperation. And there have always been those who love all more than self. Can you say they are not on the increase?

Just because violence may be thought of as lessening, it was always oppression that was the issue in Jesus' day, before and since. That is on the rise and will soon be the by-product of the Great Reset the WEF is promoting. Suppressed freedoms in trade for a utopian lifestyle of hybrid humans is their stated goal and doesn't take weapons to implement; just fear and greed on a global scale. Christians understand that or at least should, that those are indicative of the end of days.

I share your concern regarding oppression. Independent assessments of 'freedom', variously defined, have also shown general improvement.

I cannot muster the respect required by forum rules to comment beyond this post on the risible, conspiratorial characterisation of the Great Reset as neofascist. If I applied the neofascist term to any group it would fundamentalist Christians and Trump supporters.

Hybrid humans? Grow up!

Hybrid humans. Catch up. Touted as the only way to establish colonies on Mars by adapting humans to an alien environment. Also the Technocrat goal is to have us linkable physically to the digital world and the health field is promoting it as an efficient way of diagnosis and treatment with a body actually linked to cyberspace rather than as a user of. Two computers in one,. One God's version combined with the other, man's version.

Hybrid humans. Catch up.
Nice rhetorical device. Credit where credit is due. I've awarded a Funny icon, not as a sarcastic comment, but because I thought it a witty response.

My derisive original was intended as a comment on your "unsophisticated" attitude to the concept of hybrid humans and your decision to place the darkest of motives upon their creation. I've no doubt you already know many hybrid humans. You may be one yourself. People with contact lenses, metal hips, pacemakers. Perhaps you would reject an artificial heart even though it could keep you alive long enough to attend your great-grandaughters wedding. (Choose an appropriate example.)

Hybrids are here to stay. Now all we are discussing are the ethics of how far we go. But I'm puzzled. What makes you think a mechanical digestive system, or linkage to the internet via a wire, rather than your eyes, would alter your soul?

That fact we have taken it upon ourselves to better God's perfection has already tainted our soul. We are not talking mere tools to replace a broken part, but an integration of flesh and digital where there will be no privacy. Just another example of putting our will ahead of God's. And nothing man has ever created for good has escaped being used for oppression. As the OP states man 'made in God's image'. Now we make a new man in our own image just as we have likewise made the world.

That is illogical. If something is Perfect then it cannot be bettered.

An alterntive argument, not one I support, would be that it is our tainted souls that encourage such action: thus you confuse cause and effect.

I take it from your statement that you do not now, and will at no time in the future, use glasses, or laser surgery, or contact lenses to improve your vision; nor use a hearing aid to address failing hearing; nor accept drugs to lower your blood pressure. Could you confirm this, or explain why these steps to "better God's perfection" are ignored by you?

We are not talking mere tools to replace a broken part, but an integration of flesh and digital where there will be no privacy.
Please justify this claim that there will be no privacy.

And nothing man has ever created for good has escaped being used for oppression.
So, logically we should cease any effort to create anything good, since it will also be used for oppression. Don't you find it hypcritical that you are using electricity, the internet, probably live in house and - oh my! - may even have a car or a bicycle?

Tell that to the Technocrats

You are off track again. Read up on nanobots

There barely is now as everything increasingly connects to the internet, including out bodies, not as willing users but as integrated.

No just don't bury one;s head in the sand pretending it isn't happening. We can still control our destinies to a degree, at least for now. Buyer beware.

That is an evasive answer. You claimed, not the technocrats - you, that man had bettered the Perfect created by God. The Perfect can not, by definition, be bettered. Now please retract, or clarify your statement.

You are off track again. Read up on nanobots
Again an evasive answer. You clearly objected in your posts to attempt to improve upon how God had made man. The improvements I mentioned are commonplace. So which are you saying?
  1. These (glasses, replacement hips, pacemakers, hearing aids etc) are not improvements.
  2. Small improvements such as these are acceptable
  3. Something else
If your response is the second one then you are contradicting your view that attempts to improve on God's perfection are wrong.

There barely is now as everything increasingly connects to the internet, including out bodies, not as willing users but as integrated.
Then you will have no difficulty sending me a pm within the week detailing my name, address, telephone number, age, educational qualifications, credit report and shoe size.

No just don't bury one;s head in the sand pretending it isn't happening.
I really didn't need you to tell me something I have known for sixty or seventy years, especially since it was irrelevant to the point you were responding to.

No. I never said what you have twisted. I said basically their goal is to better what is already perfect.

Then you will have no difficulty sending me a pm within the week detailing my name, address, telephone number, age, educational qualifications, credit report and shoe size.
You think there are not those who cannot already do that? You don't give much credit to your so called national security.

Again an evasive answer.
Again you divert and i am not interested in following a different path.

I really didn't need you to tell me something I have known for sixty or seventy years, especially since it was irrelevant to the point you were responding to.
First of all I was speaking generally and second I will be happy to let you know what you know and leave you to do so.
