CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

No, it isn't history. It's historical.
Just as James Bond novels are historical. They take place in real places at real times. But they aren't history any more than the Bible is history. History needs to be corroborated. What we can corroborate of the Bible doesn't match. The Hebrews were never slaves in Egypt. There was never an exodus. They never wandered for 40 years in a desert the size of Manhattan. There's a wall in Chicago someplace that talks about a battle described in the Bible. Same battle.. completely different outcome. On that wall the Israelites didn't win. It's fantasy. Made up. It's not history.
You believe it because you want to believe it and then you spout stuff like this claim to make it sound rational. But it's a book meant to make the Hebrews god sound bigger and meaner than anyone else's god.
It's not history.

It's no problem AV1611VET you think it's true so that's all that matters, you're the one who needs to believe not Phred.
I don't suppose Phred is even looking to get anywhere near heaven let alone get in, you're the one doing metaphorical double back flips in an attempt to ingratiate yourself to some mythical entity.

Cinderella is history too. So is Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Real people in real places doing real things and it was documented for us. That's HISTORY. Just like the Bible.
You're entitled to your own interpretation of the facts, but you don't get to just make up your own facts.
