The First Man Adam Was Made in the Image of God
Genesis 1:27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God
He created him; male and female He created them.

After the fall, that claim was no longer valid
Genesis 5:
1 This is the book of the genealogy of Adam. On the day that God created man,
He made him in the likeness of God.
2 He created them male and female, and blessed them and called them Mankind
on the day they were created.
3 And Adam lived one hundred and thirty years, and begat in his own likeness,
after his image, and named him Seth.

I don't take Genesis 5:3 to mean that Seth was completely devoid of God's image. I see it as a way of Moses saying that Seth had inherited Adam's corrupted image of God. The reason I think this is because of other parts of Scripture which assert that mankind, although morally and spirituality depraved in every way, does retain some semblance of the Creator.
For instance, in Genesis 9:6, God forbids murder by appealing to man's dignity as His image-bearers.
It seems to be an appeal that there is a connection in fallen men with the original creation.
Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.

42 So is it with the resurrection of the dead. What is sown is perishable; what is raised is imperishable. 43 It is sown in dishonor; it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness; it is raised in power. 44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. 45 Thus it is written, "The first man Adam became a living being"; the last Adam became a life-giving spirit. 46 But it is not the spiritual that is first but the natural, and then the spiritual. 47 The first man was from the earth, a man of dust; the second man is from heaven.48 As was the man of dust, so also are those who are of the dust, and as is the man of heaven, so also are those who are of heaven. 49 Just as we have borne the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of the man of heaven.-
