Music...what would you think about just using a standard five decade rosary and praying it "Lutheran Style"?

Helmikaarina once wrote to me about a commercially "Wreath of Christ"...let me see if I can dig that information up.

Thanks for posting this...it reminds me that I wanted to rummage around in my basket of old things to see if I had a rosary or two. I have my Great-Grandmother's (one of the few things that my mother's family brought with them as they fleed their home in eastern Germany in WWII) but that is too special to use regularly.

No, I dont NEED another one, I just saw a Catholic 10 decade one that was really formal so I was going to see if I could find a Lutheran 7 decade one so that I could wear it to a formal party that I am going too.

Actually the one that you gave me is less than a foot away from me. When I am not wearing it, it hangs on my printer which is ofcourse right by my computer. I am planning on using that one for everyday use during this Lenten season, I just wanted to know if their were formal ones out there. Why do Catholics get all the fancy jewelry?

It wouldn't be that hard to make a fancy one. You just need to go buy glass beads. Hobby stores have a great selection. (Hobby Lobby for example) I have one made with clear glass beads. I got the acrylic (and wood) crosses from www.orientaltrading.com.

I was also suprised about the price - last autumn when Gigibeads began to sell lutheran prayerbeads they were a fifth or somthing of this price.

Publishinghouse Verbum sells the Wreath of Christ/life and it costs 53 swedish krowns, so about 7 - 8 dollars? The problem is that all Verbums websites (also webshoptexts) are in Swedish

I don't know about the shipping charge but if you visit my homepage and read also the guestbook there you'll find some advice to contact Mats Sandelin, salesmanager of publishingcompany Verbum. Verbum's wreaths are made of glassbeads in an Indian fair trade company. They have also one wreath with genuine stones but it costs 500 swedish crowns, is it about 70 dollars?

Wreaths I use are of wooden beads and they are very cheap. One wreath costs one dollar. And if I send it to USA it costs an other dollar. So if you need a model of a wreath I can send it to you for free.

I had been tempted each time we visited any of the California Missions to buy a rosary in the gift shop. Of course it would be Catholic, but I think that would be a nice keepsake of the trip. Maybe next time I will. I'm tired of buying postcards.

Thanks for all the info folks...a friend of mine just gave my an Anglican Rosery and I wanted to return the favor by making a Lutheran Rosery for her...now, beads I can find...I can go on my back porch and be about 8 feet from 3 craft store...but does anyone know where I can get some of those Luther Roses that were hanging from the Roseries on that one site...that would be REALLY cool...and everything else I can get here...

Well...you could take off the key fobs sold at Old Lutheran here. Not cheap but I don't know where else someone could get these.

Actuall...i'd already come up with my own Idea...I do zippo lighter for certian organizations I belong to by buying pins and cutting the post off and filing it post down and using lock-tite to stick it to the lighter case...i could do the same thing here...go get some crosses I like at hobby-lobby...buy some of the pins from Augsburg ($2.50) and do the same thing there...I could make some of those for about $10-$12 a pop...and they'll look like the $56.00 ones on that one website...BWAHAHAHA...e-bay here I come!...
