I sure will! So, were you there for VBS?

yup, different towns than the smiths were in -- i was in chernihiv, katherine was in kerson (with her second dad - the pastor there, lol) and the rest of the smiths were in ternopil (i think!!) -- what ELS church are you at? are you at king of grace (mentioned before)?? isnt that where Matt Brooks just left? he used to be down in the middle of missouri

Well, yes I am from King of Grace - but no, not the one in Minnesota - we are in Iowa (the 'little' King of Grace, small in numbers but mighty in the Spirit!)! Coincidentally, tho, our pastor's Son-in-law is one of the pastors at the other King of Grace, and one of our members has family who belongs to the 'big' King of Grace.

It is just too bad that the ELS threw out one of the best Pastors they had over the PCM. I think the ELS president is in it for the power. Just my opinion.

Are you speaking of the ELS stance on the ministry?

Back to the OP......
I know that my father's family is all from Germany. Is there any way to find out if they were Lutheran. Are there any Lutheran geneology sites?

Try the IGI (International Geneology Index), which BTW is compiled by the LDS. They have a massive index. I've found information for my family in England going back to the 1700's. The IGI relies heavily on church records. If you know the names or at least the surname, you might find some information there.

I know that Dad has been through the LDS sights. He's pretty serious about geneology. My mother in law is also. He's gone back to when our family first came to America - also in the 1700's. I'll have to ask him what records there were concerning baptisms and such. Thanks DaRev!!!
