Rationalizing ...
I am using my rational faculty to examine the issue. I don't see that as being problematic though.

As for my own actions they need no excuses and this thread wasn't started to provide a vehicle for that. I simply do as I will as old uncle Al Crowley used to say.

I am disconecting sin from biology and evolution. It's a spiritual concept, not a scientific concept.
Sin as in "strong sexual attraction"?

It has nothing to do with evolution. Or science, for that matter. Science is something people hide behind when they don't want to face spiritual and moral issues.
Yes, vaccines, astrophysics, the Internet, global telecommunications - none of it's real, it's just people trying to hide from spiritual and moral issues.

Lust a Sin?

Yes, yes it is. No matter how you rationalize it or pat yourself on the back for having rationalized it. I don't care who you are or who your uncle is.

I suspect the feeling is mutual.

Lust isn't just a fleeting thought or impulse, it is an active desire or craving for something that brings pleasure. When a sexual thought comes into mind it is the believers responsibility to take that thought captive (2 Cor. 10:5) and not let it turn into lust. As the verse below states, when you lust after something that lust will ultimately lead to sin.

James 1:15
"Then when lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and when sin is accomplished, it brings forth death."

So that which insures the continuation of our species is a sin? Life itself is basically sinful?

It needs to be repeated loudly and often just how anti-human many religious are.

This is a perfect example of the how insidious religion is. Simply thinking or entertaining a thought becomes a sin.

So thankful I a threw off the shackles of christianity and stopped worrying whether my thoughts would offend some imaginary deity.
