  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Luscious Apples

Women are like apples on trees. The best ones are at the top of the tree. Most men don't want to reach for the good ones because they are afraid of falling and getting hurt. Instead, they just get the rotten apples from the ground that aren't as good, but easy...

So the apples at the top think something is wrong with them, when in reality, they're amazing. They just have to wait for the right man to come along, the one who's brave enough to climb all the way to the top of the tree.

And just remember…
Men are like a fine wine.
They start out as grapes, and it's up to women to stomp on them until they turn into something acceptable to have dinner with.

(I don't have a clue who wrote this, but I received it in an email one time from another friend. I loved this and was encouraged by it, so I wanted to pass it on to you as well!)

Ofcourse women are encouraged by it...

Can women be encouraged by means other than putting down men?

I can only speak for myself on this, but the only time I get encouraged by putting a man down is when I feel that he has put me down in some way. Not all women are feminazi manhaters like your comment seems to suggest that you might think they are.

The apples on the top are high maintiance gold diggers though!!

No we're not, we're just the ones with higher standards. We won't sit so low on the tree (or even on the ground) that just any man can walk by and pick us up. That's not being a golddigger or high maintenance, it's just wanting Mr. Right instead of settling for Mr. Right Now.

It was a rhetorical question, ofcourse women can. I just get a kick out of the "feminazi manhater" parables like the two in the OP that women tell to each other to make themselves feel better by putting men down.

And if it makes you feel better, go ahead and put the man down that made you feel that he put you down in some way. I only ask that you be weary of innocent bystanders.

That makes sense. People shouldn't judge the opposite sex by one thing that one person says or does. If however, a person makes a negative comment about a person of the opposite sex who honestly wronged them, that person shouldn't be thought of as a "manhater" or a "male chauvanist pig" for making the comment about that one person. IMO, people need to stop attempting to generalize men as all being the same and women as all being the same. Everyone is different and should be looked at individually rather than judged by what other members of their sex/gender have done in the past.

I cannot disagree. :)

Yikes! :(

The only element that beautifies either a man or woman is the light of Christ within them. :)

The next time I meet an awesome girl I'll tell her, "you are just like an apple at the top of a tree," and see what her response is. :D

I won't comment on the second half, except to ask: how can a grape climb an apple tree?

ha, many of these comments made me laugh!:D

I apologize for the **** (didn't realize that was in there...the version I read didn't have "****" in it...it used "****" or "snot" or something) and for the deceiving title...oops...:doh:heh heh Thats just the way it was given to me...

I just really liked it because of the encouragement that I am still ok being at the top of the tree, unpicked, and of the hope that there still may exist someone who will be willing to climb the tree for me, which will totally make him WAY worth it! (just the whole knight in shinning armor thing I suppose)

And about the last part...I just thought it was funny ;)
