• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Hi, not sure this will help you all or not, but it helped me deeply. I dealt with Lupus for 20 years and much pain. After coming to know the Lord, He began to show me that I was holding onto pain within my body, mostly emotional pain, that I felt was mine to hold and bear and it deeply effected my body. I also was a person sensitive to the pain others were feeling and often spoke that I wished I could take their pain from them. I did not see the depth of how emotional wounds of my own and that of others could effect me so deeply. When you have lupus, it is truly a focus of handling and managing and monitoring your pain, it keeps your focus on the pain and that it is there. When you are in that state of holding and managing your pain, it seems almost a daily job. Offer up to Christ your pain of any kind, physical, emotional or spiritual pain, it is His job to carry that, not our own. Once I began to look into my life and release the pain that was there to Him, my pain began to leave my body and I have now been off all meds for two years! Praise the Lord, have faith and keep offering to Him all you feel and ask Him to carry the pain for you. Do not fear going into the depths of your past to see the times where you have held onto pain for yourself or others, He will go with you and carry it all. Not sure that will help you all, but it deeply released me from the pain I endured.

My husband is one of those rare men who have Lupus, right now he is in remission. He was in the middle of Junior year in college when he was diagnosed although it was clear he'd had it quite a while. He had to take five years off and now we're trying to finish our degrees.

Hi!

I have Lupus, just not systemic. So they say. You could fool me cuz I have neuro involvement and now have to use a walker to walk. If I think about it I become depressed so I try to keep my mind occupied. I have chronic pain which in part could be the fibromyalgia. I've had Lupus for 26 years. How are you coping so far? What ways does the disease manifest itself in you? What medications did they put you on if any? I'm new so don't know what is available in the forms of communications here, but I do know how to answer a post. God bless you and help you cope.

Same here. About 2 years ago. It's painful, and for the most part, manageable. I tend to get a flare about once a month or so that keeps me pretty much immobile in bed for about 24+ hours, but otherwise the meds keep me upright. I pray yours isn't as severe, and will pray for you!

May God Richly Bless you!
