  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

The Parable of the Lost Sheep
The Parable of the Lost Coin
The Parable of the Lost Son

I have recently heard 3 sermons by 3 different pastors on this passage. All at the same church. None of the pastors holds to RT. I am relatively new to RT and through all the crammy I made on observation about these three parables. I wanted to get some thoughts from some of you who have a much better grasp than I.

The shepard leaves to find one of his sheep. A stray sheep does not come up to the shepard when called.

The woman is looking for one of her own lost coins. She is not out looking for dropped change at the market.

The father welcomes back his own son. The son does not earn his status as son by serving others or his father, but is as was always his father's son.

I am aware of the traditional lessons in these parables, but found it interesting that in each case the object being returned, was brought back to its' master. You thougths would be appriciated. I do not want to read something in, but I did find it interesting.

Thanks, Pete
