There are many ex-gay Christians that are struggling to live their lives for the Lord.

Some are married (to the opposite sex) and some are celebate because they are not attracted to the opposite sex.

According to their personal testimonies they gave up same-sex sex to live their lives in purity for the Holy Spirit.

As Chistian brothers and sisters we should praise them and encourage them for the obviously huge sacrifice these ex-gays made in their lives.

Haven't they done a marvelous work?

Let's give them a big HURRAH, foru-ms style, for their proof of God's work, and their proof of "gay christianity" as a failure:

The SIN epitaph for "gay Christianity", ironically, is a lack of compassion for and a total disregard of struggling believers in Christ that are ex-gay.

Isn't that the truth? Those that don't want to turn from their sins, are so hatefilled toward those who do and have.
God bless those who are lovers of Truth and have come repentant before the Lord and have been made clean and avail themselves to the deliverance of the Lord who WILL deliver!
God bless all who deny themselves and pick up their crosses and follow after Jesus!!
:hug::hug::hug::hug:

I support them, love them, pray for them and avail myself to them, whatever I can do to help! We all need support from our brethren at some time or another, with one struggle or another. Most of us don't have an overnight metamorphasis, but the first step is coming into agreement with God and confessing our thoughts and ways that aren't the same as His are wrong. He will help us with the rest! amen!

John 15:1-8

1I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.
2Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
3Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.
4Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
5I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
6If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
7If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
8Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.

So many say that gays can't change, because that is the way they are made by God. They list things that man has tried to do to change themselves and or others, and say it fails.

We see in verse 5, of the scriptures listed above that we can do NOTHING without the Lord. So it isn't surprising to me at all that man has failed to change anything. I have heard some say they have tried to change, but can't and that is how they know they aren't suppose to. I don't know but maybe if they stop trying and let the Lord do it?

I join all here as we celebrate all people who have ask for salvation and forgiveness, and who in God's time frame have been taken out of the sins they we all live in.

I read on a site that hell was spoke of more than love in the Gospels, so I was doing some studies on that. I found that there are 10 groups of scriptures that speak of love, and 24 groups of scriptures that speak of hell in the 4 Gospels.

So if Jesus spoke more of hell then love, well .....................

I guess though if you wanted to look at it another way, all 34 groups of scriptures is about love, since out of love He was warning us about Hell.

God bless both of you. Here's a group of people you can pray for. I call this God's little incubator:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/exgaydiscussionboard/

It'll bring a tear to your eye, and bless you half to death.

If someone is now married, extra-marital affairs (with either sex) are clearly wrong. So whether or not they should be praised for their sacrifice depends on whether or not you feel any other married person should be praised for "sacrificing" their chances to be unfaithful.

If someone has like Paul, chosen for himself/herself a celibate lifestyle for the sake of the Gospel, they have a special blessing. They don't need our praise. But if we choose to give it to them, there is nothing wrong with that. It does not matter whether the attractions which they renounced are toward men or toward women.

However, the real purpose of the OP has been revealed in the "two testimonies" thread

My response in that thread can be read here.

Hmmm so you have a big warm spot for people who agree with you and not so much for people who don't? Amazing how your own sin looks so bad when you think you see it in others. :sigh:

Dear ALiberalTeen
Amen. yes we love all people... but we can praise God for His transforming power in the lives of ex-gays.
Love all people! Amen to that.

Transforming power with so-called "ex-gays?" Nonsense.

The founders and the former leaders of the "ex-gay" ministry Exodus have apologized for claiming they could turn people "ex-gay." They say they never did, and it's impossible.

There probably are no "ex-gays." There are probably just desperate gay people trying to make themselves into something other than what God made them. It probably has never worked, and it probably never will.

:Amen:

Well said.
It's nonsense. There probably are no "ex-gays." The "ex-gay" ministries are a scam, taking advantage of gay people who have been taught to feel ashamed of who they are.

"Ex-gay" ministries are a scam.

We should indeed love the people who are trying desperately to stop being how God made them, and we should tell them it's okay to be who they are, which is gay. God loves gay people just as we are.

Lying is marvelous work?

Entering sham marriages is marvelous work?

Folks should read the testimony of the former founders and leaders of the "ex-gay" ministry known as Exodus. They themselves say that the "ex-gay" ministry that they founded did not make either them or anyone else "ex-gay." These founders and former leaders of Exodus say that it's not true that a ministry can make people "ex-gay."

Read what they say about their own efforts to stop being gay, and how those efforts failed.
