And you ? What would you do - obey the Father in heaven and DO what HE says to DO ,
or
"try" (or "do") what you think is love because that's what you think you are supposed to do ?

What if you and Hitler or another of history's worst figures were in the same room together. What would you say or do to show your love to them? Remember, Jesus told us that we must love our enemies.

Discuss life with them and hopefully that would lead to discussing the Gospel with them.

Definitely A. You got it though. It's not about us. In that case or really any other, it's about yielding to Holy Spirit and letting Him have His way. Because that's the only godly love (agape) that's going to take place. /close thread

Nothing could have changed Hitler's heart.

If it could have, it would have. He was given his choice and he failed and will live with his consequences for eternity.

To those who live with hatred in their hearts currently, I simply say that God loves them more than they can possibly know, and reaches to them daily offering to remove hatred and violence from their heart. He will forgive them for everything past, present and future and write their names in Heaven and will be with them forever if they accept God's gift of salvation, if they trust Jesus's work on the cross as payment for their sins. He will give them a heart of flesh and not of stone,
Ezekiel 36:26, and will give them a warm heart in replace of their cold one. He will fill their void and they will thirst no more.

We all are given the choice.

I would turn and run like crazy....lol....then when I felt I was a safe distance I would love him in my prayers for him.....I just watched an evangelist on tv talk about Hitler....his goal was to rid the world of every single Jew on the planet....the evangelist commented this could very well have been a true example of an antichrist fulfilling Satan's desire to kill them all. If that were possible and had indeed happened then the prophesies concerning the Jews in the end times of the Bible would become dead....(possibly).

People would have said this about me before I was saved, be careful in judging anothers heart,

No matter how likely correct you are, seeing as it ended as it did, but God can do the impossible..... IF you found yourself in a room with Hitler..... there would be a purpose for it.

Even Saul hunted Christians and had a change of heart.

If Hitler would have changed his heart, then the words would have been given to him.

But infact the words were given to him, and he rejected them. The words are given to everyone and all either accept or reject it.

Hitler's heart was hardened so that he could not receive the truth.

I would rebuke Adolf Hitler for his ignorance which resulted to lots of murders.

I would also try to correct his Biblical theology.

Loving isn't always sweet and kind. If you truly love your enemies, you will expose their evil works and false beliefs because the truth sets free.

Hitler was a sadist (Stalin being more of a pychopath), and probably more and more mentally ill as he got older. I remember reading about his thoughts after world war 2 and after he passed away. He said that soon the aryans and the east asians would stop being peaceful towards each other and wage a huge war with incredible hatred. With one side needing to totally destroy the other. He even said the aryans might lose.. and he seemed gleeful even thinking about it. War was in his heart, an act of kindness wouldn't have changed him.

I guess I shouldn't say he couldn't change.. being a sadist he'd certainly be on the empathy spectrum. Hitler could have very well been a very different man if he grew up in different circumstances. He could have winded up being a Christian missionary or something. Instead he spent many of his young adult years poor and even living in homeless shelters then he participated in one of the most gruesome wars in history (WW1). That's a pretty bad combination of events, especially for someone who's probably sensitive to suffering. Also depending on his age, the brain most likely becomes hardened and more resistant to changes in thought as one gets older. So while he could become kind, it would be very.. very.. very difficult.. even if he himself put tremendous effort into trying to change.

Although, I do remember watching a program about a historical figure who would commit mass murder towards others and burn down villages and enslave others who eventually converted to Buddhism and later preached love and tolerance and gave up his violent ways.. so who knows? Lol..

I also read about Adolf Hitler's life.

Ironically, before he joined the army, his life struggles was closely similar to Vincent Van Gogh's life.

Both Adolf Hitler and Vincent Van Gogh wanted to be ministers early in life, lived as homeless, both are struggling artists, and underwent many great misfortunes in life.

If you look at it, we are partly to blame in this. None of the Christians took him in. It was the army and later on, the anti-semitists who took him in when he was in a very desperate situation.

Albert Einstein said about the world is evil because of good people who would do nothing about it. Nothing has changed today. Don't feel any better for not being Adolf Hitler. It was the coldness of those who claim to believe in Jesus are partly to blame as well.

Hitler's evil was his and his alone's doing. Literally no other person is to blame but himself. Nothing would have changed him. No matter how much love he was shown, no matter how much of Christ he saw in others, he would not have done things differently.

This sort of humanistic "blame this person blame that person for another person's evil choices" is not a Christian concept. We alone are responsible for our sins, and in Hitler's case he was responsible for his incredibly excessively evil heart. He gassed millions of Jews, minorities, etc. He murdered children ruthlessly and without second thought. He was as much of an enemy of God as it gets.

Was he human? Yes. Were Christians back then supposed to love him as Christ commanded to love their enemies? Yes. Did he have human emotions as anyone else? To a very very small degree yes.
But now his name rots and will rot for eternity. He is a proverb for what pure evil looks like, and a proverb for how the wicked will not prosper in their ways but will be cut down quickly by God.

I would pray for them, that they would encounter God and give their lives to Him. God transformed Saul, a man who was devoted to killing and imprisoning Christians. Today He continues to transform lives, including those who have done great evil. The Bible tells us to love and do good to our enemies - I can't think of a greater good than to pray that someone has a life-changing encounter with Jesus!

What would you say or do to show your love to them?

Often times i tend do or say something that would intrigue others, and sometimes even when i do or say nothing. :D

I would do whatever I have to do, at whatever cost to self, to help them have an encounter with Jesus that they would never forget. Because then I would give them the only source of everlasting joy, which is true love Christ Himself.

And, most probably I would pray and the Holy Spirit Himself will create a situation and prompt me to say or do whatever is God's will in that moment. It would be God's work out and plan while I'm just willing to obey and let Him to determine my steps.

God can't get rid of our own Freedom which is why what God meant for good only hardened Pharaoh's heart and so he used pharaohs heart for good. of course God is wise and is always doing everything for that Final End which is himself, so he knows what little things will end up leading us to him.

But surely it wasn't only just Hitler's fault, he just knew how to read a crowd and knew to say what they wanted to hear. what power would Hitler have without the thousands if not millions that Faithfully followed him?
