missing a detail.

The appeal before SCOTUS is to have those states run their own election and have their own legislators make the call when it comes to the process that each state has defined in its own constitution. The lawsuit is not about one state using another state's constitution to determine its own rules.

But those states along with their legislators have stated that Biden won, there was no evidence of fraud or irregularities.

So the lawsuit is an exercise in causing more division.

.

Well that is not true here in Georgia. In Georgia legislators are asking that the Governor call for an emergency session of congress here - so they can do that very thing.

But your statement does indicate to a small degree the level of misinformation being distributed by main stream media.

What is the source of this statement? My research shows that more than 60% of voters are either Democrat or Republican.

Yeah I have that wrong, not the majority, but the number of independents is larger than either the registered democrat or republicans

Overall, 34% of registered voters identify as independents, 33% as Democrats and 29% as Republicans. The share of voters identifying as Republicans is now the same as it was in 2016, after having ticked down in 2017; Democratic identification is unchanged. Slightly fewer voters identify as independents than in 2017 (34% vs. 37%). In Changing U.S. Electorate, Race and Education Remain Stark Dividing Lines

Not true - but you are welcomed to your opinion. You have free will. (BTW if republicans did not care about that in real life - then you would see supreme court challenges to every election democrats won for the past 20 years -- and we don't see that in real historic fact)

The court case is started by the fact that "republicans care if democrats won fairly" and the appeal is to have the court care about that as well.

The court itself does care and in my opinion so do republicans.. after all 70+% of republicans believe there were shenanigans affecting the outcome and so do 30% of democrats.
Do you know what I honestly hear from Republicans... blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah. I don't really care I sincerely hope Donald Trump barricades himself in the White House on January 20th and refuses to leave. And then President Biden can order the secret service to drag Donny boy by the feet and throw his fat butt out

I don't know about that, but the Election Commission has certified the results.

Georgia Recertifies Election Results, Affirming Biden’s Victory

Turns out - the "Election Commission" and the Secretary of State both - are not "the state legislators agreeing that something is in full compliance with both the state and U.S. constitution and is therefore certifiably correct". Particularly in a case where the SoS has independently changed election law without first having our constitution changed by legislators to be in line with such actions.

We assume that whoever signs off is the right entity as dictated by our own state constitution and the U.S. constitution after that entity had reviewed the election. But Texas is asking that SCOTUS notice - that this is not what we did, after looking at specific details in our election process this year.

Even if SCOTUS were to agree with Texas the decision would still be sent back to us for our Legislators to either confirm that "yes we did everything correctly" or "no" and then there needs to be a remedy by our own Legislators.

Main stream media struggles to convey this point accurately.

Well here's what the Secretary of State for Georgia said on "This Week With George Stephanopoulos."

'We've never found systemic fraud, not enough to overturn the election': Georgia Secretary of State Raffensperger says

Also;

ATLANTA — Georgia state Senate Republicans acknowledged in a release on Tuesday that there is "no avenue" toward a special session of the state legislature or overturning the state's election results.

The Senate Republican Caucus pointed instead to a lawsuit that Texas has petitioned the Supreme Court to review as a "venue to move this matter even quicker than a special session."

Legal analyst Page Pate told 11Alive on Tuesday that lawsuit had "almost zero chance of succeeding."

Gov. Brian Kemp has said a special session to overturn the election results would be "unlawful and unconstitutional."
