  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Lots of Doubts, please help me!

I feel what your saying about how its hard to believe everything the bible says because i have some aquaintances that say they believe in God but they dont believe everything that was written in the bible. In my experience i have come to find out for my self that the word of GOD is infallible and it has no errors or conradictions in it. Also in 2 Tim 3:16 it says that all scripture is given by the inspiration of GOD and it is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. i know many people get the scriptures twisted because they dont know how to interpret the scriptures or they just want to twist Gods word to fit what they believe. but if you just continue to dig into the word I'm sure all of your doubts disappear. Be blessed

If you want to badly enough you will find Jesus Christ, he is the Good
Shepherd, his sheep hear him and follow him because they recognize
his voice, He is always afield looking for ones that are lost, picture this. Your one of his sheep the pasture is very large 50 acres, rocky lots of trees and bushes, easy to get lost in now your turned around and everything looks the same. So you begin to make that noise sheep make Baa! or Baaaa! or BAAAA! he will rescue the one that cries the loudest. He knows that others are still out there but their cries are so
weak it takes a little longer. The bible says "If" you seek him with all
of your might you will find him because "He heard you" Gods word is easy to the extend a child can understand it, thing is its when we get
to smart for our own good we loose sight of him.. :)

Thanks,

I would like to introduce you to how God took care of His Word (the Bible).
God went to great lengths to make sure that the Old Testament didn't have any errors. The scribes had to wear special clothes. They used certain snail ink for writing. Every letter that was written had to be spaced correctly. The manuscripts were constantly checked for accuracy. If one letter was wrong they would throw out the manuscript. Then they would recheck it again and again. The scribes couldn't even get up when the King came in because the Word of God was more important.
The Bible we have today is the same as what they had back then. This is proved by the book of Isaiah. And that counts for the New Testament also.

Also, there were prophecies. Jesus fulfilled over 300 prophecies.

There are over sixteen secular writings about Jesus. If we didn't have the Bible that still means that He walked this earth and did miracles.

The Bible says that those who wrote it were moved by the Holy Spirit.

It is a very unique book and one-of-a-kind among other books.

You can trust the Bible because God reveals Himself through it. I trust that God would not deceive us.

Thanks,
TT

Just wondering being new to God's word and recently asked forgiveness and repented all my sins, making him my one and only God does the Bible also state that no words are to be changed or something could happen to the person? I don't know....and apoligize for this questions being elementary or not lol but that in itself helps me to believe more as I walk through my spiritual journey and learning of his words

When someone changes the Word of God, he is actually making a false witness against God and trying to be a false teacher at that. This would show a rejection of Christ and the work on the cross for the forgiveness of sins...and rejection means damnation.

Now, this doesn't mean, changing a word or two, but changing the meaning behind God's Word (capital W).

Greetings.

Your situation is very common today and many are asking the same questions and experiencing the same frustration. Many of those same folks have been in relilgion for years and are struggling with their faith.

You make some good points, but I often find people are asking the wrong question. As mentioned in some of the other posts, Christianity is about relationship with One, Jesus. The first question to ask is "If there truly is a God, and if this God truly loves me and wants to have relationship with me, what must I do?

When I was much younger and was interested in a particular girl, I would seek her out and find out what would work in order to develop a relationship with her. God says if we will seek Him with all our heart we will find Him. The purpose of the Bible is to lead us to seek out God for ourselves and so we can come into a right relationship with our Creator.

God is not going to hide from you because He wants you to know Him. Not just know about Him, but to truly know Him in a personal way. This is the one thing that you need to figure out this thing called life.

Go to uncommondisciples.org and go through the first series called "Knowing God". They are short lessons that will show you how to come into relationship with God. Blessings.

Mike

I always say that I am "Follower of Jesus" rather that following Christianity Religion. I think you are right, Religion often divide people.

Amen in agreement!
