  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

i could really use advice, or maybe even prayer. i'm going through a difficult time right now and i don't know what i believe. i stopped attending church when i was fourteen and stopped believing in god when i was about nine. i'm not sure what's truth and what's not. also i am struggling because a close friend of mine is dying of aids and i don't know where to turn for help. i never know what to say. i am afraid he will die and i can't do anything for him, and i have nowhere to turn for comfort. i would maybe like to learn more about god, i don't know..it's been a long time since i was in church or did much with it. i don't know how to pray and when i try i just feel hollow and alone, so...i wonder if god or anyone is there.

I'm sorry to hear about your friend, and your struggles westwitch. I'm realy not sure what to say since you don't believe in God. I can tell you that my Dad passed away back in Sept. And God brought me all the comfort I needed and more. He was with me all the way through it, and continues bringing me comfort today. Without God there with me, I can honsetly tell you I could not have made it through all I did at that time.

I know that God loves you, and is willing to take you into his arms. You just need to accept that, and believe that He is is there waiting for you to call out to him.

I pray you will find the comfort you need by seeking God and all He has to offer you.

I don't really know what to say either, but you earnestly asking for answers about God is enough for Him to answer you. Such a simple act can show you His love for you. I know in my heart that He is there, and if you just continue taking that step in asking, He will reveal himself to you.

Jermiah 29:11-13

"For I know the plans I have for you', declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart."

And if you feel alone, like nobody cares or loves you, God is there.

Hebrews 13:5b

"I will never leave nor forsake you."

God loves you and is always there for you if you seek Him! It is hard to pray sometimes especially if you don't believe. One friend of mine told me about writing a prayer journal. Everyday just write a prayer to God, what you need help with and what you are thankful for. You can ask Him to answer the prayers and to help you believe. And please turn from witchcraft because you will not find anything but evil through it.
I am sorry about your friend. I worry about those things like aids happening to my friends as well. Just be there for him and love him always, and maybe show him the Bible if you can.

God is surely there for you, all you need to do is to reach out and He will answer in His own fashion. If you felt empty when you prayed, you should try attending a church to find help, that's always the best way to go about it. May your search be fruitful.

Praying for you and your friend.

Westwitch,

You are seeking solace here with us Christians because God IS speaking to you. He wants you to seek him further, and when you open your heart to him, you will finally be fulfilled, your fears will be overcome, and you will find what you have always been looking for.

He loves you and will be glad to open his arms to you, all you have to do is ask. If you do not know how to ask, I would recommend seeking a Christian friend that you may know and asking them. If you do not have a Christian friend, we can certainly help you!

I can give you one other word of solace. If you become a Christian, not only will God give relief from your pain, but you can also use your newfound witness to save your friend (if they are not a believer).

Jesus says in Matthew 11:28-30; "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

Cheers and God Bless!

I see by your profile that you are seeking many things. God will not work in conjunction with other religion. "Thou shall have no other God before Me."

God can heal you and make you whole. I have seen Him change people's lives in such wonderful ways. If you are feeling compelled to seek him, He is seeking you. Take comfort in that. Our salvation is not always instant. Often we feel a tug on out heart that we cannot explain. Continue to seek Him in prayer. A good example for you is, I don't understand you, God. But I want to. I don't know you, but I want to. Help me to see Your purpose for me. Fill me with your spirit and make me Yours.

A big step is for you to realize that all people are full of sin and selfishness. We are all deserving of hell unless we are cleansed through Christ's sacrifice. We need a Savior and that Savior is Christ. Repent of your sin, love Him with all your heart, ask Him to become your Savior, ask Him to help you grow in His love and grace.

Do you feel as though God does not care for you? Read this carefully and realize, He suffered this because He loves you. He did this for you:

PROPITIATION [pro pish ih AY shun] — the atoning death of Jesus on the cross, through which He paid the penalty demanded by God because of people’s sin, thus setting them free from sin and death. The word means “appeasement.” Thus, propitiation expresses the idea that Jesus died on the cross to pay the price for sin that a holy God demanded.
Although Jesus was free of sin, He took all our sins upon Himself and redeemed us from the penalty of death that our sins demanded.

CRUCIFIXION- It was unanimously considered the most horrible form of death. Among the Romans the degradation was also a part of the infliction, and the punishment if applied to freemen was only used in the case of the vilest criminals. The one to be crucified was stripped naked of all his clothes, and then followed the most awful moment of all. He was laid down upon the implement of torture. His arms were stretched along the cross-beams, and at the centre of the open palms the point of a huge iron nail was placed, which, by the blow of a mallet, was driven home into the wood. Then through either foot separately, or possibly through both together, as they were placed one over the other, another huge nail tore its way through the quivering flesh. Whether the sufferer was also bound to the cross we do not know; but, to prevent the hands and feet being torn away by the weight of the body, which could not “rest upon nothing but four great wounds,” there was, about the centre of the cross, a wooden projection strong enough to support, at least in part, a human body, which soon became a weight of agony. Then the “accursed tree” with its living human burden was slowly heaved up and the end fixed firmly in a hole in the ground. The feet were but a little raised above the earth. The victim was in full reach of every hand that might choose to strike. A death by crucifixion seems to include all that pain and death can have of the horrible and ghastly—dizziness, cramp, thirst, starvation, sleeplessness, traumatic fever, tetanus, publicity of shame, long continuance of torment, horror of anticipation, mortification of untended wounds, all intensified just up to the point at which they can be endured at all, but all stopping just short of the point which would give to the sufferer the relief of unconsciousness. The unnatural position made every movement painful; the lacerated veins and crushed tendons throbbed with incessant anguish; the wounds, inflamed by exposure, gradually gangrened; the arteries, especially of the head and stomach, became swollen and oppressed with surcharged blood; and, while each variety of misery went on gradually increasing, there was added to them the intolerable pang of a burning and raging thirst. Such was the death to which Christ suffered for us.

I certainly agree with you about not believing in god. Neither do I. Neither would I spend an instant seeking him, as you have done for at least the last six years. It is clear you have found no answers in that direction.

Now it is time for you to seek God. I have no idea what "Church" you attended up untill the tender age of 14, when you decided to get involved with the occult, and wicca and paganism and all other things as far from Christ as they can get. But whatever Church it was, if it was of the Christian religion, you should have learned something about God and heard of Jesus Christ.

And Gabriel is right. God will not answer your prayers while you are involved in the devils religion. It is that simple. The only prayer from you He will answer is the prayer of repentence and acceptance of Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour. God hears and answers the prayers of His children, and is under no obligation to hear any prayer from you, other than the one I mentioned.

As has been pointed out, the fact that you are here when need answers and are fearful indicates an awareness that the mess you are involved with is powerless to help you. And sure we can pray for you and do, but there comes a time when YOU must pray a prayer that no one else can pray for you.

Jesus said in: John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

If anyone tells you there is any other way, they are a liar, because Jesus cannot lie. If you have a book that says anything to the contrary, you need to burn it and flush the ashes.

When you feel your heart beating hard and that tugging, pulling sensation on your heart, that is God confirming the Truth of the things I have typed here. Things you have probably heard many times.

As as has been said God loves you, as witnessed by the giving of His Son to pay the penalty for our sins and to die not only FOR us but IN OUR PLACE. Jesus has proven His Love for you by the Sacrifice He has made. The Holy Spirit has proven His Love for you by "drawing" you to Jesus, and pointing you to the TRUTH you seek.

You are here by Divine appointment. It is no accident. NONE of us know when we will die. We have no guarantee of another single breath. So why delay. Why not accept Him now, and be assured He will hear and answer your prayers? But you must be sincere, for God is serious and requires you to be also. He is a jealous God and will not share you with any other religion.

If you are sincere, you can say the simplist prayer and He has promised to answer. Just say something similar to this: Dear God, I know you are calling me as I am seeking you. I turn from the life I have been living and denounce all forms of witchcraft and the occult and everything that is opposite and contrary to You and Your written Word. Forgive all of my sins and Jesus come into my life and save me. I believe in my heart that You suffered and died and paid the penalty for my sin, and that you arose and are alive evermore. And with my mouth, I confess you are Lord. Come into my life, and live in my heart, and be the Lord of my life, and I will serve you forever. Thank You for saving me. Amen.

If you prayed that prayer God has heard and answered it because He has sai that He that cometh unto me, I will in no wise cast out. May I suggest that you get a Bible and ask the Holy Spirit to open your eyes and your heart of understanding as you read through the Book of I John, and then St. John. Seek out a Bible believing, Christ Honoring Church in your community and follow Jesus in believers Baptism, thereby making a public profession of your faith. If you have any questions, PM me or GMI or Dave or Gabriel or any one of the obvious believers and who love Jesus with all thier hearts.

We are all praying for you and love you as Jesus loves us.

I prayed for you on your praise thread. Theses dear brothers and sisters in Christ have offered you some awesome and life changing information. I am blessed that you felt God's calling to act upon it. If you would like some one on one counseling, you may contact me by PM, or check into my profile. I would caution you that if witchcraft is a part of your life, you must forego it completely. The Lord is tugging on your very heartstrings. Obey His call, and have life everlasting! You will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.
